MILAN - Massimo Moratti was interviewed by Inter Channel after the Nerazzurri's 3-1 victory over Empoli:

Dr Moratti: we experienced a very exciting evening...
"First of all, it was a nice match and it was important to do well. All the Interisti were worried the game would have been taken with a certain laxity, which could have been quite normal, but it was a match played well, and with a certain serenity. These are important performances, and besides, the team is strong and did very well, played calmly and showed some excellent things. Also, there were many so-called regulars out, but the so-called non-regulars are just as good."

An entire stadium asked Luis Figo to stay today. Speaking on (Italian television) Rai, you also asked him to stay...
(Smiles) "Yes, but he still didn't want to reply... I asked to him to stay for everyone, because everyone wants him to stay. He knows why it is difficult to stay. I hope he changes his mind and stays, but perhaps he is already thinking of it. I hope he stays with us."

And an entire stadium celebrated Massimo Moratti today. How do you feel?
"Gratitude to the fans, who were marvellous. They didn't forget anyone today. They were kind and affectionate towards all the players and all those who participated in this triumph. I also thank them for being kind to me. I am here and I try to do well if I can, also for next year which will be even more important."

This team can continue to win for a long time to come because it's a great team...
"I think it would be very wrong to revolutionise things this year and turn upside down a team that, as far as I am concerned, has also replied well psychologically. We have to believe in this team if we want continuity at this level, and we all want this. This team is very strong and it certainly isn't a flash in the pan. This team really is strong."
