LISBON - (ANSA-AFP) Luis Figo defines himself as "an unemployed player", and says that in the next two weeks he will make a decision on whether to stay at Inter or not.
"I have taken this week and the next to have a good think," said the Portuguese midfielder during a visit to a pediatric hospital in Lisbon. "I want to understand if I still want to play at a high level, or whether it's time for me to stop. We will see what happens."
Figo has already excluded a return to Sporting Lisbon, the club at which he began his career. "My image will always be linked to this club, but a return there is impossible at the moment," he said. "It wasn't possible in the past because I was playing abroad, and also because there had never been a serious proposal from Sporting."
So it's either Inter or nothing. "I had thought about playing in Arabian football for a few months, but they haven't honoured certain commitments," continued Figo. "On the other hand, the Inter fans have shown me great affection. I have understood that lots of people love me in Italy, and that I chose the right club. All this is making me think things over now."
