BRUNICO - Part three of Roberto Mancini's Brunico news conference:

Mancini: the feeling is that there won't be any big changes. But a lot of players want to join Inter at all costs...
"I think this is something the club and the fans should be pleased about. If good and important players want to come here, it means we have worked well and done things positively. It's certainly a nice thing."

Are you expecting the new season to be more complicated than last year?

"We must always do more than the others, and for many reasons. The complicated things are always the nicest ones to resolve, everything goes flat when there are no difficulties. On the other hand, with difficulties to overcome you manage to give that something you have inside you that you can only bring out in the difficult moments. We have always had difficulties, we will continue to have them, and we will try to overcome them as we always have done. You can never say you will win this or that, but you can say that we will do our best to win. Football is nice also because no one knows what will happen."

Are you hoping there will be greater serenity in this championship?
"I'm hoping for the usual things, but then after three matches there's every possible and imaginable dispute. But this is part of our mentality and our way of living football. You always hope things will go better, but this goes for everyone involved in football, from the FA officials to those of the Football League and those of the referees. But this is quite normal."

Many of your players have said they want to win the Champions League...
"It's hard to win. Barcelona had the strongest team around last year but didn't win anything. This is why I always say it's hard just to have the European Cup as your only objective. We start with three goals, knowing that the Champions League always has its difficulties, which we have had in the last two years. Last season we were eliminated with two draws. As always, we will aim to win it, knowing that the difficulties met in past seasons could be useful to us in certain games."

Was your role decisive in Suazo's strong desire to join Inter?
"We had been after him for more than a year. We had mentioned him many times and we should have bought him in January, but then we didn't. It was all sorted out this year, then there was that whole matter."

The player said that it was important to talk to you...
"This certainly may be. I think the player's desire to join Inter was important."

Is it a problem for a coach to have six strikers?
"The problem is for the strikers - there are six of them. But they might not be six. We have to look at Recoba's situation, which isn't easy. We have spoken about it, and with respect for him I think the time has come to find a solution in which he can play with continuity, a solution that gives him satisfaction. He's over thirty now, time passes quickly for a player."

And would five strikers be too many?
"Like I said, it's a problem for the strikers. There are five, six if you count Recoba. Two play, two will go on the bench, and one in the stands. Then there might be a day when we play three together. It depends on them, the players know that you need to suffer a bit when you play for Inter, because just like in every great team, all the players are good. You can go through difficult times, but you have to know how to get through them and be prepared."
