BRUNICO - Julio Cruz gave a brief interview after Thursday morning's training session at the summer training camp in Brunico. The Argentine forward ruled out the transfer rumours of recent days.

Cruz: how does it feel to read your name linked to the negotiations to bring Cristian Chivu to Inter?
"The only thing I want to say is that perhaps my declarations the other day were misinterpreted. I never said I wanted to leave Inter and I have never argued with Mancini or anyone else at the club. This is the most important thing. I see my name in the papers every day, this isn't a good thing because I have never caused any problems for anyone and I don't wan't to create any during this good period for Inter."

You said that Inter are a bit like a family for you. Before leaving for the pre-retreat (in Sardinia), however, you said that in football 'you never know'...
"It's not the first time this has happened. They have been asking me this question throughout my five years at Inter... Players come and go every season, but like I said, you misinterpreted my words. I'm an Inter player, I care about this club and we're doing well at last."

The club has made it known that Cruz is untransferable, but that his contract still has to be renewed...
"Yes. I have spoken with the president and those responsible. I will certainly renew it later on. I'm in pre-season training at the moment so I can't go and discuss it now. Like I have said in previous years, I want to end my career at Inter."

Perhaps this misunderstanding was needed to clear up the situation? Did you feel less well thought of than others?
"I have never felt less well thought of. Absolutely not. I know the club believes in me and has always considered me an important player."
