MILAN - Massimo Moratti has again denied that there are any ongoing negotiations for ex-Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho. "For me, the situation should not be changed," he said.
Speaking on the sidelines of the presentation of a speedboat race named after his father Angelo, the Inter president explained: "It's an idea put forward by others but it's not the truth. However, it is seen as fascinating because everyone is expecting a few changes.
"For too many years these things have been brought up when we get to the last two months of the championship. I don't pay any attention to these things anymore, and I hope Mancini doesn't either. In the papers I read a lot of things that irritate me, but I'm used to it."
Moratti believes that Roma will remain a title challenger despite their defeat to Manchester United in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie. "They lost against a very strong opponent but they played well, so they are still a team to be feared," he said.
"But elimination is not a foregone conclusion. They have already showed against Real what they can do."
