MUNICH - Inter captain Javier Zanetti says the Nerazzurri are gradually fine-tuning their game ahead of the new season.

"We have made progress compared to last week," said the Argentine after Inter's victory over Bayern Munich. "It was a difficult test tonight, but we were compact against a team further ahead in its preparation. We scored a goal in the second half and we had other chances to score.

"We have many incentives, the coach is very clear and he indicates the right path to us, and we have to follow it on the pitch. We want to continue to improve. We are working very well. We have never felt under pressure because the team wants to be ready for the first competitive fixture."
