MILAN - Nelson Rivas, who ruptured the external collateral ligament of his right knee in the second half of Saturday's 2-1 victory over Bologna, underwent more medical tests this morning.
Instead of opting for conservative therapy, Franco Benazzo of the San Matteo hospital in Pavia and Inter's chief of medical staff Franco Combi have decided to proceed with ligament reconstruction surgery.
After the operation, which will be performed in the coming days, the Colombian defender will rest for a week before starting a programme of injury rehabilitation.
