MILAN - (ANSA) The 2009/10 Serie A championship will begin on the weekend of 22/23 August 2009 and will end early on 16 May 2010 ahead of the World Cup in South Africa (from 11 June to 11 July).

Dates to remember:

-  The games in Matchdays 1 & 2 (23 & 30 August) will kick off at 20:45.

-  There will be four midweek rounds (kick-offs at 20:45 on Wednesday plus one late game on Thursday): 23 September, 28 October, 6 January and 24 March.

- There will be three international breaks: 6 September, 11 October and 5 November.

- Winter break: 2 Sundays - 27 December & 3 January.

- 6 January: one match at 12:30, others at 15:00, late game at 20:45.
