APPIANO GENTILE - Antonio Florencio, president of the National Association of Portuguese Sports Journalists, gave José Mourinho the award for best Portuguese coach in the world before today's press conference at the training ground.
Florencio explained that Mourinho had been chosen for his victories in Portugal, England and Italy, and for his long unbeaten home run in domestic league and cup fixtures (his last defeat was in February 2002).
"I haven't worked in my country for five years, but I know the meaning of football in Portugal," said Mourinho. "I'm pleased they haven't forgotten about me, but those who know me know that I like sharing individual prizes with my team. I would willingly swap it for another title next year so I can celebrate it with everyone."
