MILAN - Inter president Massimo Moratti spoke briefly to journalists outside the Saras offices on Thursday lunchtime.

This is what he had to say:

President, are you disappointed with the team's performance against Barcelona? 
"I am disappointed because we practically stayed in Milan. It was  a useless trip. And I think that we saw the players go missing. I think it was an isolated episode, because something like this has never happened before and I think it ends there. This doesn't cancel out our good play in other matches, it doesn't cancel out the continuous growth and the fact that we are having an excellent season. We played a terrible match at the wrong time."

Have you spoken with any players?
"No. I went into the changing room but it wasn't like in Manchester or other times when I have been angry. I went into the changing room for a normal exchange of ideas. It certainly wasn't the time to make a scene."

Was it more a problem of mentality or players?
"One of the two."

A lot has been written in the past few days about your relationship with the coach. What do you think when you read that Mourinho's job might be in doubt?
"Absolutely not. We didn't hear from each other yesterday because it was his day off. There's no problem at all. We continue with the same faith. He will certainly analyse that match and he will have to look at the players and the tactics. It will be him who has to do this, but there's complete faith in someone who so far has replied to this faith."

Do you think Inter's squad is on the same level as Barcelona's?
"Well, they might have been superior the other day, because we weren't there, but this isn't the problem at all. Anything can be said when you're discouraged, but after that you have to make a good analysis and know how to take the right responsibility so you can do better the next time, and I am convinced that Mourinho will do well all of this."

You now have three important matches for your season...
"All these matches are always important. The match against Rubin Kazan will be important. The others are championship matches."
