The ref: Kim Milton Nielsen

Kim Milton Nielsen was born in Copenhagen on 3 August 1960 and lives in Ballerup. An international referee since 1988, Nielsen's favourite hobbies are tennis and information technology. The Dane is a manager by profession and is one of the twelve Euro 2004 referees. Nielsen has taken charge of matches involving Italian teams on 22 occasions (7 Italian victories, 5 draws and 10 defeats) and has refereed 4 Inter matches: Inter 1-0 Salzburg (1993/94 Uefa Cup in Vienna), Lyon 3-3 Inter (2002/03 Champions League), Ipswich 1-0 Inter (2001/02 Uefa Cup) and Valencia 2-1 Inter (2002/03 Champions League). Inter v Olympique Marseille is Nielsen's first black and blue match at the San Siro.

Marseille native José Anigo, born on 15 April 1961, took over from Alain Perrin on 15 January 2004. Prior to replacing Perrin, Anigo was coach of the Marseille B side, and now leads the first team for the second time in his coaching career. He coached O.M. for five matches in 2001 but then left the club after irreconcilable differences with then president Bernard Tapie.
