Adriano well in sight of record

With 12 goals in the 2004/05 season so far (an average of one per game), Adriano is well on course to surpassing his record of strikes in one season. The Emperor scored 21 goals in matches for Parma and Inter last season (17 in the Serie A, 1 in Europe and 3 in the Coppa Italia).

After seven Serie A matches, Inter, Juventus and Lecce are the three teams that have improved their results most in the second halves. DA IMPLEMENTARE
wins(11) draws(4) defeats(3)
LECCE - Inter squandered a two-goal lead at the Via del Mare to register their sixth draw in eight Serie A matches, despite enjoying the run of play in Wednesday's 2-2 stalemate with Lecce.

Esteban Cambiasso had a hand in both of the Nerazzurri's first-half goals, playing short to Martins to cross for Adriano's headed goal in the fourth minute (the Brazilian's thirteenth of the season), then intercepting in midfield and exchanging passes with Obafemi Martins before unselfishly setting up the Nigerian to shoot past Sicignano.

Valeri Bojinov reduced the deficit before half-time, then brought the sides level four minutes after the restart. The young Bulgarian forward beat Fontana with a stunning long-range strike - his sixth goal of the season, then made it seven with an angled shot past Fontana after good work by Cassetti on the right wing.

Adriano wasted a golden chance to put Inter back in front on 72 minutes, blasting over the bar with just Sicignano to beat.
