MILAN - Inter finished off 2004 with a gritty 1-0 win over Brescia at the San Siro on Sunday afternoon to keep their long unbeaten run intact and move up to fourth spot in the Serie A standings, with Cagliari in action against Palermo tonight.

Free kick specialist Sinisa Mihajlovic decided the Lombardy derby with his third Nerazzurri goal on 25 minutes, beating Castellazzi with a perfectly-executed set-piece which flew round the wall and into the bottom left-hand corner.

The Nerazzurri had three or four good chances to increase their lead in the second period, but Brescia keeper Castellazzi made fine saves from Adriano, Vieri and Stankovic.

After the two-week winter break the Nerazzurri's first competitive match of 2005 is a Serie A Week 17 trip to Tuscan side Livorno.
