Bobo one hundred

Christian Vieri is one away from his 100th Serie A goal for Inter, having scored his 98th and 99th at th Renzo Barbera on Sunday. Vieri's first league goal for the Nerazzurri was on 29 August 1999, when he scored a hat-trick in Inter 3-0 Verona.

Martins, Vieri top scorers so far in 2005

Obafemi Martins is Italy's top scorer after a month of the new year with six goals (two in league, four in cup), together with Roma striker Montella. Including just Serie A matches, Vieri and Montella are top of the list with five goals each.

Inter still unbeaten

The Nerazzurri haven't lost a competitive match in 2004/05. Including the last two victories at the end of last season after the 2-1 defeat at Lecce on 2 May, Inter are now unbeaten in 34 matches (17 wins and 17 draws).

Mancini's Inter always on target at home

Mancini's Inter have scored at least one goal in each of their home Serie A matches since the start of the season (total 21 goals in 10 matches). The positive run started at the end of last season when the Nerazzurri beat Parma 1-0. The last time they failed to score at the Meazza was in the 0-0 draw against... Mancini's Lazio, last 25 April.

Atalanta's poor second-half form

Bergamo Nerazzuri Atalanta would have seven more points in the table if their matches lasted 45 minutes instead of 90, having worsened their results in second halves more than any other Serie A side this season.

Atalanta: 25 goals conceded in 14 away matches

Atalanta haven't finished an away match without letting in goals since last 5 June when they beat Treviso 3-0 in the Serie B. In their 14 trips since then, the Bergamo side have let in a total of 25 goals.

MILAN - Inter followed up Sunday's win in Palermo with another convincing performance at the Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday to beat Atalanta 1-0 and consolidate third spot in the Serie A table.

The scoreline suggests a close match, but Fabian Carini was a spectator for most of the ninety minutes as the Nerazzurri produced a dominant display and created chance after chance.

Atalanta twice cleared off the line in the first half, while Obafemi Martins saw his close-range shot come off the crossbar before he opened the scoring just after the half hour. The Nigerian squeezed between Natali and Bellini then turned the Atalanta number six before firing past Calderoni to make it sixteen goals in all competitions this season.

Inter continued to attack the Bergamo Nerazzurri in the second half and were at their most dangerous from set pieces as Vieri, Martins and Stankovic all headed over the crossbar. Bobo had a chance for his 100th Serie A goal for Inter in the final minutes but his low shot from the edge of the box was well saved by Calderoni.
