Cavasin v Mancini

The current Brescia and Inter coaches have each won one of their two previous meetings.

Nerazzurri in Brescia

Inter have won 8, drawn 11 and lost 4 of their 23 competitive matches away to local rivals Brescia. The last victory was a 1-0 win in 2002/03, the last draw a 2-2 stalemate in 2003/04 and the last defeat a 1-0 loss in 2000/01.

Inter equal two historic records

The draw with Lazio in Week 28 was Inter's 17th of the 2004/05 Serie A campaign. The 1-1 stalemate at the Olimpico saw the Nerazzurri equal the club's record of draws in one season (set in 1991/92), and also equalled Bologna's record of draws in one 20/21-team Serie A season (set in 1948/49).

Veron prolific in May

Of Juan Sebastian Veron's 27 goals in official matches in Italian football, 5 have come in games played in May, more in any other month. Veron scored 2 of his May goals in 1996/97, 1 in 1999/00, and 2 in 2000/01.

Inter on target for eight matches in a row

Inter have scored at least one goal in each of their last eight Serie A matches. The last time the Nerazzurri failed to score was last 27 February when they lost 1-0 to AC Milan.

Brescia toward negative home record

Brescia have lost nine league matches at the Rigamonti Stadium in 2004/05 and are now one match away from equalling the record of ten home defeats in the 20/21-team Serie A championship set by Triestina in 1946/47 and equalled by Venezia in 1949/50 and Legnano in 1951/52.

Brescia five matches without defeat

With 2 victories and 3 draws in their last five matches, Brescia have registered their longest unbeaten run of the 2004/05 season so far.

Brescia better under Cavasin

Since Cavasin took over at Brescia, the Swallows' attack has improved, with 18 goals in 11 matches (average 1.64 goals per game). And since the 1-0 defeat at home to Sampdoria on 26 February, Brescia have scored at least one goal in their last eight matches (total 15 goals). Under former coach De Biasi, Brescia notched 15 goals in 23 games (an average of 0.65 goals per match).

BRESCIA - The Nerazzurri took a step closer to securing a Champions League qualifying round place with a 3-0 victory over Brescia in Sunday's Lombardy derby at the Rigamonti. Obafemi Martins scored two and made the other to keep Inter six points clear of Sampdoria and Udinese in the Serie A standings with three matches to go.

Inter's first real chance came on the quarter-hour mark when Adriano saw a low shot parried by Castellazzi. The Brazilian then flashed a long-range effort wide before Veron had a volley superbly saved by the Brescia keeper as Inter continued to push for an opener, then on the stroke of half time Giorgos Karagounis had a close-range effort ruled out for offside after a defence-splitting one-two with Adriano.

Mancini's men continued to create chances after the restart and took the lead on 55 minutes when Obafemi Martins received from Veron then tucked a low shot under Castellazzi. Martins added Inter's second and his twentieth of the season just over ten minutes later with a shot past Castellazzi after Giorgos Karagounis weaved through the Brescia defence then played wide to set up the Nigerian.

Martins rounded off an exceptional performance in stoppage time when he shrugged off a Domizzi challenge then sidestepped Zoboli before squaring for Vieri to slot home.
