Fedotov v Mancini

The two coaches meet in a competitive fixture for the second time after Inter's 2-1 home win against Spartak on 18 October.

Last Spartak home defeat over 2 years ago

Spartak haven't lost a home match in European competitions since 26 February 2004 when they were beaten 3-0 by Mallorca in the first leg of their 2003/04 UEFA Cup third round tie. Since then the Russians have collected three wins and as many draws.

No away goal for 184 minutes

Inter's last away goal in Europe was Stankovic's 86th-minute wonder goal in Ajax 2-2 Inter on 22 February. That was 184 competitive minutes ago: remaining 4 minutes in Amsterdam plus entire matches against Villarreal (2005/06 Champions League quarter-final second leg) and Sporting Lisbon (2006/07 Champions League Matchday 1).

No Nerazzurri win on the road for 13 months

Inter have collected 2 draws and 3 defeats on their European travels since their last away win on 13 September 2005, a 1-0 victory at Artmedia Bratislava in Matchday 1 of last season's Champions League. Julio Cruz scored Inter's winner on that occasion.

Crespo, Cruz & Champions League goals

With nine Champions League goals apiece, Hernan Crespo and Julio Cruz are fifth in the all time list of Inter scorers in Europe's top competition. In front of the two Argentines are Obafemi Martins (10 goals), Jair (11), Adriano (16) and Sandro Mazzola (16).

The referee: Bo Larsen

Born on 28 October 1965, Danish official Claus Bo Larsen has been an international referee since 1996. Larsen, who has refereed Italian clubs in European competitions on five occasions (4 Italian wins, 1 draw), takes charge of an Inter match for the first time in Matchday 4.

MOSCOW - Julio Cruz proved Spartak Moscow's nemesis again as the Nerazzurri registered a 1-0 victory at the Luzhniki Stadium.

The Argentine forward, who scored both goals in Matchday 3 at the Meazza a fortnight ago, netted in the first minute to put Inter second in Champions League Group B behind Bayern, who play Sporting in Munich tonight.

Cruz stunned Spartak less than sixty seconds in, sidefooting his fourth of the season into the roof of the net after meeting Ibrahimovic's assist following a defensive error by Stranzl.

The Russians went on to dominate the first period in terms of ball possession but had few attempts on goal, their only meaningful chance falling to Boyarintsev whose diagonal effort was blocked by Julio Cesar.

Inter's best chance of doubling before the break fell to Cruz who twice combined with Dejan Stankovic before firing wide of the post.

Ibrahimovic wasted a gilt-edged chance to give Inter a two-goal cushion two minutes after the restart when he headed wide from close range after meeting Figo's pin-point cross from the right.

Spartak, who before tonight were unbeaten at home in European competitions since February 2004, limited Inter to counter-attacks, creating at least three good chances to equalise after Ibra had a low effort blocked by Kowalevski.

Pavlyuchenko forced a good save from Julio Cesar, chesting down a Shishkin pass before turning and volleying on target. Inter's Brazilian keeper then smothered the ball to deny Cavenaghi a follow-up after Shishkin's thunderous long-range shot smacked against the crossbar, before Kovac headed narrowly over after Titov's one-two from a short corner with Cavenaghi.

Ibrahimovic and Stankovic both went through on goal in stoppage time but Spartak had Kowalevski to thank for narrowing the angle on each occasion.
