Three hundred times Crespo

Hernan Crespo, scorer of Inter's winning goal at the Olimpico in midweek, is poised to make his 300th appearance for an Italian club in Sunday's game against Chievo. The Argentine striker, who has worn the shirts of Parma, Lazio, Inter and AC Milan, has played 219 times in Serie A, 18 in Coppa Italia, 57 in Europe and 5 in other tournaments. He made his debut in Parma's 3-1 cup win at Pescara on 28 August 1996.

Seventeen-match scoring run

Since the 0-0 home draw with Parma on 12 January 2006, Inter have scored in 17 consecutive matches at the Giuseppe Meazza, netting a total of 36 goals.

No Chievo win in 10 games

Chievo's last victory in a competitive fixture came on 15 April 2006 when they defeated Messina 2-0 at home. Since then, the Flying Donkeys from Verona have collected five draws and as many defeats.

Clash between unrelegated teams

Inter v Chievo is a match between two of the four teams participating in the 2006/07 Serie A championship who have never been relegated to Serie B. Inter have been in the top-flight since it became a one-division championship in 1929/30 while Chievo have avoided the drop since gaining promotion in 2001/02. The other two teams are Parma (in A since 1990/91) and Siena (in A since 2002/03).

Ibra's favourite target

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, scorer of 27 goals since moving to Italy, has a knack of scoring against Chievo keeper Vincenzo Sicignano. In his two seasons with Juventus the Swedish striker put four past the former Lecce shotstopper.

Pillon set for 100th match as coach

Chievo coach Giuseppe Pillon will complete a century of coaching appearances at the Meazza on Sunday. He made his coaching debut on the Treviso bench in a goalless Serie C draw at home to San Donà di Piave on 20 August 1995.

Pillon's 99 appearances:
Serie A: 16
Serie B: 34
Serie C1: 27
Serie C2: 11
Coppa Italia: 4
Serie C Coppa Italia: 5
European competitions: 1
Other tournaments: 1

MILAN - Inter beat Chievo 4-3 in a spectacular afternoon of football at the Giuseppe Meazza as the visitors scored three late goals after being totally outplayed by Roberto Mancini's men for 75 minutes.

The Nerazzurri made their intentions clear from the outset, Solari testing Squizzi with a low shot after dribbling an opponent in the area.

The Chievo custodian then made a double save from Adriano and Crespo before the latter latched on to Dacourt's perfect ball over the Gialloblu defence and rifled a low angled shot into the far corner to give Inter an 11th-minute lead.

In an Inter-dominated first half the Flying Donkeys from Verona carved out three good chances but Godeas was denied by Julio Cesar on each occasion.

Adriano showed signs he is returning to top form with a barnstorming run down the right before half time. The Brazilian powered past Sammarco and Scurto, sidestepped Mandelli in the area and rifled on target from a tight angle. Squizzi saved.

Inter doubled their lead 12 minutes after the restart when Walter Samuel headed into an open goal with Squizzi stranded after a half-clearance from Figo's corner.

The Nerazzurri's third was a memorable effort from Dejan Stankovic, who collected the ball 25 yards out and unleashed a right-foot drive that found the top left corner.

Hernan Crespo then made it 4-0 with an almost identical effort to his opener after a delightful through ball from Adriano.

Chievo grabbed what looked like a late consolation when Pellissier converted a spot kick after being brought down in the area by Julio Cesar.

But there was more to come as Chievo sub Tiribocchi reduced the deficit again with an unstoppable strike from distance. Brighi then capitalised on a defence lapse, steering past Julio Cesar from ten yards to give his side a lifeline and set up a tense four minutes of stoppage time.

But Inter held on for victory and move top of the table as Palermo went down 2-0 at Empoli.
