Giampaolo v Mancini

The current Cagliari and Inter coaches meet in a competitive fixture for the first time.

Suazo fifth in Cagliari's all time scorer list

Including his two goals in this start to the 2006/07 season, David Suazo has scored 32 in Serie A games for Cagliari to leapfrog Gigi Piras into fifth place in the club's all time list of top-flight scorers. In front of the Honduran forward lie Gori (33 goals), Muzzi (41 goals), Oliveira (45 goals) and the legendary Gigi Riva (156 goals).

Cagliari: one win in 13 league games

The Rossoblu from Sardinia have won just once in their last 13 Serie A matches. Since their 3-1 home win against Parma on 30 April 2006 Cagliari have collected 8 draws and 4 defeats.

Rossoblu looking to end 12-year wait

Cagliari's last win against Inter at the Sant'Elia was on 30 March 1994 - over 12 years ago. On that occasion, a UEFA Cup semi-final, the islanders triumphed 3-2. Since that date Cagliari have hosted Inter in 10 competitive fixtures, drawing seven and losing three.

Few bookings for Cagliari, Inter

Cagliari and Inter are of the three teams to have had the fewest yellow cards shown (7) after four rounds of Serie A matches. Livorno are the other team.

Four out of four for Inter

After 360 minutes of 2006/07 Serie A football only four teams have scored in each of their four games: Lazio, Messina, Sampdoria and Inter. The Nerazzurri have scored a total of 9 goals.

Crespo decisive

Hernan Crespo is one of the league's two most decisive scorers after four rounds of matches. His goals against Roma (1) and Chievo (2) have collected six points for Inter. The other is Luca Saudati, whose goals for Empoli have also helped earn his club six points.

Adriano to end goal drought at Cagliari?

Adriano, who last scored in Inter's 2-1 victory over Villarreal in their Champions League quarter-final first leg on 29 March, and who hasn't netted in the league since Inter- Sampdoria on 11 March, relishes scoring against Antonio Chimenti. The Brazilian has scored five goals in matches against the current Cagliari keeper. Adriano has also scored five in matches against Udinese custodian De Sanctis.

CAGLIARI - Fabio Grosso scored his first goal for Inter as the Nerazzurri held Cagliari to a 1-1 draw at the Sant'Elia.

The World Cup winner netted seven minutes before the break after a creative Cagliari side went ahead through Colucci.

Roberto Mancini named a 4-3-3 formation for the Serie A Week 5 clash with Ibrahimovic, Crespo and Adriano in attack, but was forced to switch to a 4-4-2 after Crespo hobbled off with a hamstring injury

Cagliari took a 17th-minute lead when Mauro Esposito drifted in from the left and floated a cross over to an unmarked Colucci who volleyed past Julio Cesar from close range.

Ibrahimovic fired a low shot wide from 25 yards as Cagliari continued to hit Inter on the break, Esposito forcing a great save from Julio Cesar after receiving a Suazo pass in the area.

Inter lost Crespo to injury just after the half hour, but gained in terms of tactics with Santiago Solari coming on to give the Nerazzurri more depth in a four-man midfield.

The forced substitution and resulting tactical switch led to an Inter-dominated end to the first half. Grosso converted a Maicon cross at the back post to bring the teams level a minute after Adriano had a close-range effort disallowed for offside.

In a flurry of attacking activity before the break Solari went close with a long-range drive and Ibrahimovic was denied by Chimenti before the Cagliari keeper kept out a Stankovic curler.

In a low-key second half that saw more bookings than clear-cut chances on goal, Suazo sent a long-range free kick wide while Solari narrowly missed the target with a scissor kick.

The Argentine winger, who twice set up Ibrahimovic and Adriano with testing crosses from the left, had a chance to seal victory in the final minutes but saw his left-foot drive parried by Chimenti.

The draw sees Inter slip to second in the Serie A table as Roma edged Empoli 1-0 to move top. The Giallorossi will be joined by Palermo tonight if the Sicilians win against Chievo in Verona.
