Inter on target in 22 consecutive Serie A home games

Since their goalless draw with Reggina at the Meazza on 29 May 2005, the Nerazzurri have scored in 22 consecutive Serie A matches at home, netting a total of 54 goals.

Last Livorno goal against Inter 58 years ago

Inter haven't conceded a goal in a competitive match against Livorno since 21 November 1948, when Stradella scored in the 54th minute of Inter 3-1 Livorno. There have been five competitive games between the two sides since that date: the return match in 1948/49, and the four matches in 2004/05 and 2005/06.

Zanetti's long goal drought

He recently made his 500th appearance for the Nerazzurri, but Javier Zanetti's last goal for the club was almost four years ago. Inter's captain last scored on 6 November 2002 in a 4-3 Serie A win at Empoli.

Livorno's 393-minute invincibility

Livorno haven't conceded a Serie A goal, at home or away, sicne 20 September 2006 when they drew 2-2 with Cagliari. Rossoblu captain Suazo scored the Sardinian's second goal in the 57th minute. Livorno haven't let in a goal since then (remaining 33 minutes of that game plus entire matches against AC Milan, Messina, Ascoli and Siena) clocking up an invincibility of 393 competitive minutes.

Arrigoni and substitutions

Livorno are one of two Serie A teams to have used the fewest substitutions after seven rounds of matches: 15 out of a possible 21. Udinese are the other team.

Arrigoni close to double milestone

Daniele Arrigoni is one away from his 100th win and 100th draw in competitive matches as a coach. During spells in charge of Castel San Pietro, Montevarchi, Vis Pesaro, Messina, Palermo, Frosinone, Cagliari and Livorno he has collected 277 benches. The first of Arrigoni's 99 victories was Castel San Pietro 2-3 Vis Pesaro, a Serie C Coppa Italia match played on 13 September 1997, while the first of his 99 draws was Baracca Lugo 0-0 Castel San Pietro, a Serie C Coppa Italia game played on 17 August 1997.

MILAN - Inter bounced back from Sunday's goalless draw at Udinese with a 4-1 crushing of Livorno to remain level on points with Palermo at the top of the Serie A table.

The Nerazzurri warmed up for Saturday's Milan derby with a dominant display which led to their biggest win of the season so far.

French defender Marc Pfertzel unwittingly gave Inter a dream start after two minutes, turning a Recoba cross into his own net after Materazzi's low shot in the area was blocked.

The crossbar denied Julio Cruz a second goal on 11 minutes when the Argentine met Recoba's sublime backheeled pass into the box and crashed his first-time effort against the woodwork.

Recoba laid on Inter's second goal two minutes later, crossing from the right-wing corner flag for Materazzi to head in at the back post.

The Uruguayan then blazed a long-range shot wide of the top left corner before sustaining a slight calf injury and making way for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who set up Cruz two minutes before the break only for the Argentine to see his low shot parried by Amelia.

Livorno substitutes Lucarelli and Cesar Prates combined as the Amaranto pulled one back 25 minutes after the break, the former heading in the latter's cross from close range.

But Zlatan Ibrahimovic restored Inter's two-goal lead less than sixty seconds later, slotting past Amelia after being put through by Stankovic.

Julio Cruz added to the tally with a near-range header from Figo's inswinging cross before being replaced by Hernan Crespo.

With the points in the bag Roberto Mancini brought off an influential Dejan Stankovic in the closing stages to hand a Serie A debut to seventeen-year-old Belgian midfielder Ibrahim Maaroufi.
