Mancini v Gasperini

The two coaches meet in a competitive fixture for the first time.

Mancini v Genoa

Roberto Mancini faces Genoa for the first time as a coach. As a player, the Inter boss took part in many Genoa derbies during his long spell at Sampdoria.

Gasperini v Inter

Gian Piero Gasperini faces Inter for the first time in his coaching career.

Inter: 42-match scoring run at home

The Nerazzurri have scored in 42 consecutive Serie A matches at San Siro, netting a total of 97 goals. Inter last failed to score in a home league fixture on 29 May 2005 when they were held by Reggina on the final day of the 2004/05 season.

Nerazzurri unbeaten in 15 league games

Inter 1-3 Roma on 18 April 2007 was the Nerazzurri's last Serie A defeat. Mancini's team have since won 11 and drawn 4.

Inter one away from 100th home goal against Genoa

Inter have scored 99 goals in 44 home matches against Genoa since the Serie A became a one-division championship. Club legend Giuseppe Meazza scored the first three goals in a 3-3 draw on 15 June 1930.

Adriano seeking 100th goal

After his headed winner against Reggina in Serie A Week 8, Adriano is one away from a century of goals for Italian clubs. The Brazilian striker has scored 74 in Serie A, 6 in Coppa Italia and 19 in European cups (67 for Inter and 32 for Fiorentina/Parma). Adri's first Italian goal came in Inter 2-1 Venezia on 16 September 2001.

Ibrahimovic one of four most decisive players in 2007/08

Inter's Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Genoa's Marco Borriello, Atalanta's Riccardo Zampagna and Napoli's Marcelo Zalayeta are the 2007/08 Serie A championship's four most decisive players after nine rounds of matches. With their goals all four players have earned their teams seven points.

Genoa without goal for 197 competitive minutes

Genoa have not scored since Di Vaio's goal in the 2-0 home win over Cagliari on 7 October. A total of 197 competitive minutes have elapsed since the Italian forward's goal in the 73rd minute of that game (remaining 17 minutes of Genoa 2-0 Cagliari plus Juventus 1-0 Genoa and Genoa 0-0 Fiorentina).

MILAN - Ivan Cordoba and Esteban Cambiasso scored at the start of each half, David Suazo broke his scoring duck, and Julio Cruz converted a late penalty to give Inter a comfortable victory over Genoa at the Giuseppe Meazza.

The win keeps the Serie A leaders and defending champions three points clear of Roma, and four in front of Juventus ahead of Sunday's clash at Turin's Stadio Olimpico

Mancini's men were a goal to the good after just eight minutes of the midweek clash when Cordoba stole in to nod home after Crespo's header from Zanetti's cross was pushed on to the bar by Rubinho.

Chances for a quick second were plenty, but the Genoa keeper pulled off heroics to thwart Cesar, Maxwell and Chivu.

Genoa carved out two good opportunities for a first-half equaliser. On the half hour Orlandoni narrowed the angle to block a shot from the unmarked Fabiano. Figo headed off the line five minutes before the break to deny Borriello.

Inter made a strong start to the second half and doubled their lead five minutes in. Rubinho spilled Chivu's free kick and Esteban 'El Cuchu' Cambiasso pounced to slot home.

Crespo and Cesar missed two great chances to kill off the game as Genoa fought back hard.

Figueroa had a shot blocked by Orlandoni's legs just minutes after coming on for the ineffective Borriello.

Rossoblu defender De Rosa then missed a gilt-edged chance, rising to nod over Leon's dangerous inswinger from close range.

Crespo missed again in the 70th minute, prompting Mancini to introduce Suazo.

Genoa reduced the arrears after a devastating move in the 74th when Konko crashed an angled shot past Orlandoni after a sublime flicked pass from Figueroa.

The Rossoblu's celebrations were short-lived as Suazo restored the two-goal advantage within sixty seconds, lifting the ball over Rubinho after intercepting De Rosa's headed back pass.

The Honduran striker's first goal in black and blue sparked wild celebrations with his team-mates and sent San Siro into delirium.

Inspired, Suazo won a penalty with two minutes left on the clock, dribbling three opponents during a central run on goal before being brought down by the keeper.

Julio Cruz stepped up to the spot and sent Rubinho the wrong way, sealing an emphatic victory.
