Palermo's scoring form at home

The Rosanero have scored in every home game this season. In 5 league games and 1 Coppa Italia fixture, Ballardini's team have netted 11 goals. Their last home game without scoring was the 2-0 Serie A loss to Sampdoria on 11 May 2008.

Bovo & goals against Inter

Palermo defender Cesare Bovo has scored twice against Inter and Cagliari out of a total of 6 career goals. Both of Bovo's goals against the Nerazzurri (one at home, the other away) came in the 2003/04 season when he was at Lecce.

One defeat in 16 games for Inter under Mourinho

Inter have lost just one game in 16 since José Mourinho took over. The Nerazzurri's only defeat under the Portuguese coach was the 1-0 Milan derby loss on 28 September 2008. Mourinho's team have won 9 and drawn 6 of the other 15 matches.

Mourinho's attacking options

Eight Nerazzurri have scored Serie A goals this term: Adriano, Cordoba, Cruz, Ibrahimovic, Maicon, Obinna, Stankovic and Vieira. AC Milan are the only other team with eight different scorers after 11 rounds of matches.

Mancini, Vieira & goals against Palermo...

Patrick Vieira has scored twice against Palermo, Roma and Siena out of a total of 13 goals for Italian clubs, while Mancini has scored 5 against Palermo, Inter, Parma and Torino out of a total of 60. The French midfielder counts Alberto Fontana as his favourite target, with 3 goals against the Palermo goalkeeper.

...Ibra, Obinna & goals against Amelia

Besides Vieira and Mancini, strikers Ibrahimovic and Obinna are two other likely scorers against Palermo. The Swede has scored 6 in games against Rosanero keeper Marco Amelia out of a total of 68 'Italian' goals, while the Nigerian has scored 3 against Amelia and De Sanctis out of a total of 21 goals in Italian football.

PALERMO - Zlatan Ibrahimovic stunned Palermo with two brilliant goals in the second half as Inter saw off the Rosanero in Sicily.

The result moves Inter clear at the top of the table ahead of next Saturday's 'derby d'Italia' showdown against Juventus.

Ballardini's Palermo attacked and defended in numbers at a packed Renzo Barbera, creating plenty of chances in the first half.

Julio Cesar made saves from Simplicio, Migliaccio and Cavani, with Miccoli wasting three good chances.

Inter went close through Maicon, and Ibrahimovic had a shot blocked by Fontana as the teams went into the break on even terms.

Whatever Mourinho said during his half-time talk was understood to perfection by Ibrahimovic, who took 22 seconds to break the deadlock. The Swede raced to collect a headed pass from Cruz, rolled the ball forward a yard and then unleashed a wicked right-foot shot that went in off the post, giving Fontana no chance.

Ibrahimovic stunned Palermo for a second time 16 minutes later with a blistering free kick that travelled at an incredible 124kmh.

The home side failed to react to the double blow and Mancini had two good chances to make extra sure of the points after coming on for Cruz, missing from a yard out before curling a sweet shot inches wide of the far post.

Palermo sub Lanzafame had a shot blocked in added time, and Ibrahimovic was denied a hat-trick when his shot forced a one-handed save from Fontana.
