Bologna on target in 10 of last 11

Bologna have failed to score in only one of their last 11 home matches in Serie A - a 2-0 defeat to Chievo on 13 September 2009. In the other 10 games taken into account, the Rossoblu have scored 18 goals.

Bologna chasing hat-trick

The Rossoblu are looking for a third straight home win after 2-1 and 3-1 victories over Siena and Palermo. If they win again today, Bologna will have won three consecutive home games in Serie A for the first time since December 2004 to February 2005, when they won 4 in a row.

Mingazzini set for milestone appearance

If he appears against Inter, Nicola Mingazzini will celebrate his 300th appearance as a professional. His 299 appearances for Ravenna, Spezia, Atalanta and Bologna are subdivided as follows: 65 games in Serie A, 136 in Serie B, 76 in Serie C1 and 22 in Serie C2. Mingazzini made his professional debut in Cremonese 0-2 Ravenna (Serie B) on 6 June 1999.

Mourinho looking for fourth consecutive away win

Inter have won three away games on the trot, with 5-0 and 2-0 wins over Genoa and Livorno in Serie A and a 2-1 victory over Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League. If the Nerazzurri beat Bologna, they will have won four consecutive away matches for the first time since the period from December 2007 to January 2008, when Mancini's Inter won 5 away games in a row in Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League matches.

Eleven different players on target

Eleven Inter players have scored in the first 12 rounds of the 2009/10 Serie A championship. In alphabetical order, they are: Balotelli, Cambiasso, Eto’o, Lucio, Maicon, Milito, Motta, Muntari, Sneijder, Stankovic, Vieira. No other team has scored with as many different players.

Eto'o's decisiveness

Samuel Eto'o is one of the two most decisive players in the 2009/10 after 12 rounds of matches, the other being Sampdoria's Pazzini. Both players have earned their teams 11 points.

BOLOGNA - Inter made light work of Bologna with a well-deserved victory at the Stadio Dall'Ara, increasing their Serie A lead to eight points ahead of Sunday's matches.

Diego Milito opened the scoring on 22 minutes with a typical finish but Bologna replied within sixty seconds through Marcelo Zalayeta. Mario Balotelli, preferred to Samuel Eto'o in attack, restored Inter's lead with a headed goal before the break, with Esteban Cambiasso wrapping up the points in the second half.

After a sluggish opening period Bologna goalkeeper Viviano suddenly had his work cut out. He kept out a long-range drive from Chivu and a close-range header from Thiago Motta, but there was little he could do to save Milito's shot on 22 minutes. Thiago Motta's wayward header from Balotelli's corner was headed back into the middle of the area by Lucio and Milito swivelled before crashing home.

Bologna's reply came within sixty seconds. Zalayeta brought down Adailton's long-range pass into the area and took it wide of Julio Cesar and two defenders before firing into the top right corner as the Dall'Ara erupted.

Balotelli had a quick chance to put the Italian champions back in front but Viviano did enough to narrow the angle. Stankovic went even closer with a shot that hit both posts before Viviano smothered the ball to stop Cambiasso from slotting over the line.

Balotelli got his reward four minutes before the interval. Maicon swung in a corner from left and the young Italian rose on the edge of the six-yard box to power home his header.

Inter came out for the second half with Samuel Eto'o on for Balotelli and the Cameroonian brought the match to life with an amazing piece of skill on the byline, setting up Milito who rattled the crossbar with a rising drive that Viviano somehow got a touch to.

The Bologna keeper made more saves from Cambiasso and Stankovic, before the former sealed a fourth consecutive away victory with a well-taken finish in the 72nd minute. Milito beat the offside trap and crossed for Cambiasso to stab first time into the bottom right corner.

Inter were reduced to ten men in added time when Maicon was shown a straight red card for dissent.
