Benitez v Delneri

Sunday's Serie A Week 6 clash at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza is the first meeting between the two coaches.

Benitez v Juventus

Rafael Benitez faces Juventus for the first time in Italy, but has encountered the Bianconeri on two past occasions in the Champions League whilst in charge of Liverpool. In the 2004/05 quarter-finals, the Reds beat Juventus 2-1 at home and drew 0-0 in Turin. In the semi-finals Liverpool ousted Chelsea to reach the final, where Benitez's side came from three goals down to tie AC Milan 3-3 before winning the penalty shootout.

Delneri v Inter

Luigi Delneri faces the Nerazzurri for the eighteenth time after 5 victories, 4 draws and 8 defeats. At San Siro, Delneri has won only once in eight visits: Chievo's 2-1 Serie A victory on 15 December 2001, which was also Delneri's first game against Inter. In his following 7 games away to Inter, the current Juve boss has collected 2 draws and 5 defeats.

Inter on target in last 10 games against Juve

Inter have scored in all of their last 10 competitive matches against Juventus, for a total of 15 goals. They last failed to score against the Bianconeri in a 2-0 Serie A defeat in Turin on 2 October 2005.

Inter's home invincibility

The Nerazzurri haven't lost at home since their 1-0 Champions League loss to Panathinaikos on 26 November 2008, winning 38 and drawing 11 of their following 49 games. In national competitions, Inter are unbeaten at home since their 2-1 league defeat to Juventus on 22 March 2008, with 40 wins and 12 draws from their successive 52 Serie A, Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup games. In Serie A, Inter's home invincibility is 43 games: 33 victories and 10 draws since that 2-1 defeat to Juventus in March 2008.

Eleven home wins in a row

Inter have won their last 11 home matches scoring 32 goals. Here's a recap of the winning run: Livorno (3-0 in Serie A), CSKA Moscow (1-0 in Champions League), Bologna and Juventus (3-0 and 2-0 in Serie A), Barcelona (3-1 in Champions League), Atalanta and ChievoVerona (3-1 and 4-3 in Serie A), Roma (3-1 in Italian Super Cup), Udinese and Bari (2-1 and 4-0 in Serie A), and Werder Bremen (4-0 in Champions League). The last team to come away from San Siro with a point was Genoa (0-0 in Serie A) on 7 March 2010. Inter last conceded at home in their 2-1 victory over Udinese on 11 September, with Floro Flores scoring for the Bianconeri in the 31st minute. The Nerazzurri have since kept two clean sheets, winning 4-0 against Bari in Serie A and beating Werder Bremen by the same score in the Champions League.

Contrasting defences

Inter have let in 3 goals in the first five rounds of the 2010/11 Serie A championship, while Juventus have conceded 9, the same number as Udinese and Roma. At San Siro on Sunday night, Serie A's best defence goes head-to-head against one of the worst.

Delneri one away from 300th Serie A match as coach

Luigi Delneri will celebrate 300 Serie A matches as a coach in Sunday evening's derby d'Italia. He made his top-flight debut in Chievo's 2-0 win at Fiorentina on 26 August 2001. Besides Juventus and Chievo, Delneri has also coached Roma, Palermo, Atalanta and Sampdoria in Serie A.

Del Piero homing in on Boniperti record

With his next goal for Juventus, Alessandro Del Piero will equal Giampiero Boniperti's club record of 178 goals in Serie A.

MILAN - Sunday night's derby d'Italia at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza ended in a goalless draw, a result that will please the Bianconeri more than the Italian champions, who slip to second place in the table behind early-season leaders Lazio.

The Nerazzurri dominated in terms of ball possession (62% to 38%) and total number of scoring opportunities, but were made to settle for a point by Delneri's side.

There were chances a plenty at both ends but it was all Inter in the opening minutes and Coutinho terrorised the Bianconeri rearguard with some speedy attacking play.

Juventus came into the game midway through the first half but failed to take the upper hand. Krasic volleyed inches wide, before sending in a dangerous cross for Iaquinta who failed to connect at close range.

The Serbian combined with Iaquinta again minutes later and the Italian hit the back of the net, but his tap-in was ruled out for offside.

Benitez was forced to shuffle his pack just past the half hour, with the injured Biabiany making way for Milito, who received excellent service from Eto'o. The Prince was intercepted in the box on two occasions and he just failed to connect at the far post with his third chance on the stroke of half time.

Both teams made half-time changes, with Santon replacing Cordoba and Motta coming on for De Ceglie.

The first real chance of the second half fell to Krasic, who rifled a strong shot at Julio Cesar after running past Chivu, Stankovic and Santon.

Inter edged close to an opener midway through when Storari kept out Maicon's close-range header from Sneijder's cross.

Julio Cesar made a difficult save from Quagliarella and two easy ones from Del Piero, before Inter went close again with Milito firing narrowly wide after latching on to Cambiasso's brilliant lofted pass.
