Benitez v Juventus

Rafael Benitez faces Juventus for the first time in Italy, but has encountered the Bianconeri on two past occasions in the Champions League whilst in charge of Liverpool. In the 2004/05 quarter-finals, the Reds beat Juventus 2-1 at home and drew 0-0 in Turin. MILAN - Sunday night's derby d'Italia at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza ended in a goalless draw, a result that will please the Bianconeri more than the Italian champions, who slip to second place in the table behind early-season leaders Lazio.

The Nerazzurri dominated in terms of ball possession (62% to 38%) and total number of scoring opportunities, but were made to settle for a point by Delneri's side.

There were chances a plenty at both ends but it was all Inter in the opening minutes and Coutinho terrorised the Bianconeri rearguard with some speedy attacking play.

Juventus came into the game midway through the first half but failed to take the upper hand. Krasic volleyed inches wide, before sending in a dangerous cross for Iaquinta who failed to connect at close range.

The Serbian combined with Iaquinta again minutes later and the Italian hit the back of the net, but his tap-in was ruled out for offside.

Benitez was forced to shuffle his pack just past the half hour, with the injured Biabiany making way for Milito, who received excellent service from Eto'o. The Prince was intercepted in the box on two occasions and he just failed to connect at the far post with his third chance on the stroke of half time.

Both teams made half-time changes, with Santon replacing Cordoba and Motta coming on for De Ceglie.

The first real chance of the second half fell to Krasic, who rifled a strong shot at Julio Cesar after running past Chivu, Stankovic and Santon.

Inter edged close to an opener midway through when Storari kept out Maicon's close-range header from Sneijder's cross.

Julio Cesar made a difficult save from Quagliarella and two easy ones from Del Piero, before Inter went close again with Milito firing narrowly wide after latching on to Cambiasso's brilliant lofted pass.
