A coaching first

This will be the first ever meeting between coaches Andrea Stramaccioni and Serse Cosmi.

Stramaccioni's only meeting with the Bianconeri a positive one

Andrea Stramaccioni emerged victorious in his only competitive match against Siena: last 11 April in the Serie A his Inter won 2-1 at the San Siro.

One of the biggest Serie A wins against Inter

It will be Cosmi's 15th competitive match against Inter and his record stands at 2 wins, 1 draw and 11 defeats. Cosmi has never won in Milan, where he has collected 1 draw and 7 defeats with 18 goals let in. Of note is the fact that Cosmi's first win against the Nerazzurri is one of the 3 biggest in his coaching career: it was a 4-1 victory for his Perugia on 19 January 2003. The other two, with the same score line, were Perugia v Bari on 16 December 2000, and Lecce v Siena last 19 February.

Inter unbeaten against Siena

When taking into consideration all of the 16 competitive matches played between Inter and Siena, both in Milan and in Siena, the Bianconeri have never beaten the Nerazzurri. The record stands at 12 wins for Inter (6 in the last 6 matches) and 4 draws.

Siena, winless in their last 8 Serie A matches

Siena have not won in the Serie A in their last 8 matches, stretching back to last season. Their last win came on 22 April in their 4-1 win against Genoa. The record in that period is 4 draws and 4 defeats.

Cosmi and 'Black September'

For Serse Cosmi's teams in professional championships, September is always the worst month. They average 1.2 points per match in this period, with his record standing at 13 wins, 17 draws and 16 losses.

DA IMPLEMENTARE
wins(6) draws(2) defeats(1)

MILAN - Siena have come away from the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza with three points: Serse Cosmi's men have beaten the Nerazzurri 2-0, who once again - for the fifth time - fail to win at home.

It was goalless at the interval, in spite of missed chances from Sneijder and with Cassano at the top of his game. Siena took the lead on 73 minutes as Vergassola finished a fine counter attack. Inter tried everything to respond, pouring forward at every opportunity but they were denied by a number of good saves from Pegolo.

The Nerazzurri were punished at the death as substitute Valiani headed in a second in stoppage time.
