Cambiasso's purple patch

Esteban Cambiasso has put more goals past Fiorentina than any other side since he began plying his trade in Italy. Five of Cuchu's 44 goals have come against the Viola.

Inter's 11-game winning run at home against the Viola

Inter have won their last 11 home games against Fiorentina. The Viola's last positive result in San Siro dates back to 7 May 2000, a 0-4 win with Chiesa (2), Batistuta and Bressan among the goals.

Goals on the Nerazzurri subs bench

Inter share the record (with Pescara) for most goals scored through substitutes in the current Serie A campaign. The Nerazzurri have players coming off the bench to thank for three strikes so far: two by Cassano and one from Coutinho.

First meeting of coaches

Andrea Stramaccioni and Vincenzo Montella are facing off as coaches for the first time this evening.

Strama's Viola previous

Andrea Stramaccioni has come up against Fiorentina just once in his career so far: a 0-0 draw played out in Tuscany on 22 April 2012.

Montella evens with Inter as a coach, great scoring record as a player

Vincenzo Montella is pitting his wits against the Nerazzurri for the fifth time, with past results perfectly balanced: a win, two draws and a defeat. Inter scored in each of those games, five goals in total. As a player, Montella met Inter 19 times (17 Serie A, 2 Coppa Italia), winning 4, drawing 6 and losing 9. He boasts a good scoring record against the Nerazzurri with a 12-goal tally. Inter were his joint favourite target, along with his current employers Fiorentina.

MILAN - Inter notched up their first victory at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in 2012/13 as they saw off the challenge of form side Fiorentina to claim a 2-1 win. Diego Milito set the Nerazzurri on their way from the spot on 17 minutes before Antonio Cassano kept a cool head to slot home a second shortly after the half-hour mark. Romulo reduced the deficit for the visitors as the interval approached, but there was still time for Milito to rattle the bar before the half-time whistle. Fernandez was given his marching orders in the 62nd minute after picking up his second yellow for a lunge on Nagatomo.
