Stramaccioni vs Bergodi, Round 1

Andrea Stramaccioni and Cristiano Bergodi face each other as coaches for the first time today.

Stramaccioni won previous meeting with Pescara

The Inter coach is up against Pescara for the second time in his professional coaching career. His Nerazzurri side returned from the Stadio Cornacchia with a 0-3 win on the opening day of the current league campaign, 26 August 2012.

Inter unbeaten in 10 home games. Best run since 2008-2010

Inter's last defeat on home soil in a competitive fixture came on 23 September: 0-2 to Siena in Serie A. Their 10-game unbeaten streak since then consists of seven wins and three draws. If the Nerazzurri avoid defeat again tonight, it would be their longest run at home since stringing together 53 positive results between 2008 and 2010.

Rocchi targeting 100th Serie A strike

Inter's new signing Tommaso Rocchi is one goal away from taking his career tally in Serie A to 100. Rocchi netted the first of his 99 top-flight goals for Empoli on 29 September 2002, in the 65th minute of Perugia 1-3 Empoli. His total includes 17 for Empoli and 82 for Lazio.

Inter and Pescara: draw shy

Inter and Pescara are two of the four Serie A sides who have recorded the fewest draws this season, having shared the spoils on just two occasions each. The other teams with only two draws to their name are Juventus and Roma.

Only one win for Pescara away to Inter... and Bergodi was on the pitch!

Pescara's only victory away to Inter in six previous games was recorded on 13 September 1987: 0-2 in Serie A. Cristiano Bergodi, now the manager, made his top-flight debut that day and played the full 90 minutes. Galvani (40) and Sliskovic from the spot (57) grabbed the goals to seal victory for the 'Dolphins'.

Milito close to 200th league game in Italy

Should he feature this evening, Diego Alberto Milito will notch up his 200th league appearance in Italy. The Argentine striker's 199 matches to date have come wearing the colours of Genoa and Inter: 140 in Serie A and 59 in Serie B. He made his professional debut in Italy on 1 February 2004, in Genoa 1-1 Ascoli (Serie B).

MILAN – Inter marked their first outing at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in 2013 with a comfortable 2-0 win over Pescara in Week 20 of Serie A.

The Nerazzurri were mostly in control of things from the start, with 18-year-old Marco Benassi giving an assured performance in midfield on his league debut. Palacio opened the scoring on the half-hour mark after Chivu's firm pass was dummied by Cassano, the Argentine striker shaking off his marker with a dip of the shoulder to fire clinically beyond Perin's despairing dive and take his tally for the season to 11. Inter had the chance to make it two in first-half stoppage time. Cassano's brilliant through ball picked out Jonathan and the Brazilian looped a cross-shot towards the far post, but Palacio wasn't able to get on the end of it.

Inter did manage to double their lead after the restart when Guarin scored in the 54th minute following an excellent build-up. Jonathan slid the ball into the path of Palacio and the Argentine pretended to cross before dragging the ball back and picking out Guarin on the edge of the six-yard box, enabling the Colombian to steer home with ease. Mudingayi made his return to the side as a 78th-minute substitute and shortly afterwards Pereira almost netted a third at the end of fast-flowing move: Perin parried his fierce drive.

The result sees Inter rise to 38 points in the standings.
