LIVORNO - It finished Livorno 2-2 Inter at the Stadio Armando Picchi.

Mazzarri opted for a three-man backline of Rolando, Samuel and Juan Jesus in front of Handanovic. Jonathan, Hernanes, Kuzmanovic, Alvarez and D'Ambrosio played from right to left across the midfield, while Palacio partnered Icardi in attack.

The Nerazzurri took the lead on 37 minutes through Hernanes' first goal for the club. Kuzmanovic began the move which saw Alvarez cross for Palacio. The Argentine's cushioned header dropped for Icardi but he missed his kick. The Prophet, though, arrived right on cue to smash the ball into the back of the net. Kuzmanovic then went close himself two minutes before the interval: he powered a drive from fully 30 yards which brought the best out of Bardi.

Inter did though double their lead before the break: Palacio showed wonderful technique to steer in a volley from Jonathan's cross in first half stoppage time. The visitors went in 2-0 up at half time.

The Amaranto halved the deficit nine minutes into the second period. Paulinho came short for a training ground corner and drove the ball in off the underside of the crossbar.

Icardi and Guarin both had opportunities to re-establish Inter's two-goal lead with 15 minutes to play but a combination of Bardi and Mbaye kept them at bay.

The hosts eventually levelled five minutes from time through substitute Emeghara. Guarin misplaced a back-pass and Samuel couldn't get back to check the Swiss' progress. After a breathless final four minutes, it finished Livorno 2-2 Inter.
