MILAN - Inter Primavera fall at the final hurdle. After dominating Lecce for a hundred and twenty minutes in Thursday evening's national championship final, Daniele Bernazzani's boys lost 6-5 after a penalty shoot-out.
Diarra put the Giallorossi in front in the 31st minute, prodding home after Mattioli broke down the wing then centred. But Inter kept their cool and after several missed chances by Riccardo Meggiorini drew level through Federico Piovaccari, who finished off a Dino Marino move in the 70th minute.
Isah Eliakwu went close to a silver goal in the first period of extra time, but the Nerazzurrini couldn't bring down the iron curtain of keeper Rosati.
Lecce win the Primavera Scudetto for the second year in a row after Meggiorini shot over during the penalty shoot-out, but compliments to Inter for making it into three finals in three years.
