INTER PRIMAVERA 2003/04: DEFENDERS
MILAN - If Inter Primavera let in so few goals this season then a large slice of the credit goes to Daniele Bernazzani's defensive department, which comprises the experience of Nossa, Donazzan and Dellafiore, the athletic exuberance of Haba Kolie and Colombo (pictured), the versatility of Giani and the talent of Andreolli.
Marco Andreolli joined the Nerazzurrini from Padova last summer and is one of the youngest players in the squad. Born in Ponte dell'Olio on 10 June 1986, Andreolli made 20 appearances in 2003/04 (13 in the championship, 5 in the Tim Cup and 2 at Viareggio) and scored twice in the championship. A central defender, Andreolli is part of the Italian Under-18 set-up.
Luca Colombo is another of the new arrivals at Inter. Practically unbeatable in the air, the central defender played for Olginatese before moving to Milan last summer. Born in Sondrio on 8 November 1984, he played 20 matches in 2003/04 (14 in the national championship, 3 in the Tim Cup and 3 in the Carnival Cup) and scored three times (once in the championship and twice at Viareggio).
Born in Buenos Aires on 2 February 1985, Paolo Herman Dellafiore is one hundred percent Italian. Signed from Grumellese, Dellafiore has worn black and blue since 1999/00 and is a veteran of three Primavera Championship finals. This season he racked up 40 appearances (26 in the championship, 10 in the Tim Cup and 4 in the Carnival Cup) and scored one goal. His performances for the Nerazzurrini earned him a call-up to the Italian Under-19 squad.
Nicola Donazzan is the Inter Primavera captain. Born in Bassano del Grappa on 8 January 1985, he joined Inter's Youth Sector from Montebelluna in 2000, then played for the Giovanissimi and Allievi before becoming part of the Primavera squad two seasons ago. In 2003/04 he made 39 appearances (24 in the championship, 10 in the Tim Cup and 5 in the Carnival Cup) and scored one goal.
Nicolas Giani is possibly Daniele Bernazzani's most versatile player. He can play in midfield, at left-back and in the centre of defence. Born in Como on 13 March 1986, Giani joined Inter's academy from Cassina Rizzardi in 1998/99, and in 2003/04 played 39 times for the Primavera side (25 in the championship, 10 in the Coppa Italia and 4 at Viareggio). He scored 5 goals (2 in the championship and 3 in the Tim Cup) and also won a call-up to the Italian Under-18 squad.
Norbert Haba Kolie turned out to be a pleasant surprise after joining Inter on a free transfer at the beginning of the season. Born in N’Zerekare, Rep. Guinea, he can play anywhere in defence and rarely makes mistakes. This season he played a total of 28 matches (18 in the championship, 7 in the Tim Cup and 3 at Viareggio).
Devis Nossa is Inter Primavera's vice captain and an influential figure at the back. Born in Treviglio on 7 Febraury 1985, Nossa played for his local side Orsa Treviglio before joining Inter in 1997/1998. He played 39 matches this season (25 in the championship, 10 in the Tim Cup and 4 in the Carnival Cup) and scored 3 goals (1 in the championship and 2 in the Tim Cup). Nossa's exemplary performances for Inter have seen him earn a place in the Italian Under-19 squad.
