Twenty-eight years on, Inter are the most-loved football club in China according to surveys conducted by the most important Chinese media, and the Serie A match against Livorno last 16 October, in which the Nerazzurri wore shirts with the Pirelli logo translated in Chinese characters and beat the Tuscan outfit 5-0, was watched by an estimated television audience of over 150 million.

Inter and club sponsor Pirelli, who have been present in China for years and who recently started producing tyres in the province of Shandong, have teamed up again to thank fans in China and in tomorrow's match against Lazio the Nerazzurri will come on to the pitch with the Pirelli logo in Chinese for the second time this season.
