MILAN - Inter secured their place in the final eight of the 2006/07 Campionato Primavera - Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti with a 2-1 home victory over Genoa after last weekend's goalless draw in Liguria.
Sixteen-year-old striker Mario Balotelli scored both goals for Vincenzo Esposito's team, opening the scoring in the first half before restoring Inter's lead late on following Eusepi's leveller early in the second period.
Balotelli put Inter ahead in the 17th minute, latching on to a long pass by goalkeeper Paolo Tornaghi before slaloming two opponents and firing past Russo.
The Rossoblu equalised five minutes after the interval through Eusepi who beat Tornaghi with a low, right-foot shot after being fed by Ledesma.
But Balotelli, who scored 18 goals for the academy's Under-17 side earlier this season before joining the senior youth team, slotted home his sixth of the campaign and Inter's winning goal in the 78th minute after a cross by captain Simone Fautario.
The draw for the playoffs, to take place in Bressanone from 12-19 May, will be held on Wednesday 2 May.
