MILAN - Italy Under-21 coach Pierluigi Casiraghi has called up Inter pair Enrico Alfonso and Francesco Bolzoni to his squad for the upcoming U21 Euro 2009 qualifying matches against Croatia (Chieti, Friday 12 October) and Greece (Athens, Tuesday 16 October).
The Azzurrini will undergo their first training session at Chieti's Stadio Angelici in the afternoon of Tuesday 9 October.
Inter's Italy U-21 call-ups:
Goalkeeper, born in Padua on 4 May 1988. Played for Alte di Montecchio in province of Vicenza from age of 6-10 and then spent one season at Montecchio Maggiore before joining Chievo's Giovanissimi category team. Joined Inter from Chievo in summer of 2007 and made first-team debut in Gamper Trophy friendly against Barcelona. Has played for youth national teams at various levels.
Midfielder, born in Lodi, Milan province on 7 May 1989. In seventh season with Inter's academy after joining from local club San Colombano al Lambro. Made academy debut for Esordienti A (Under-13) team, winning Italian championship with Inter Primavera (Under-19s) last season. First-team debut came against Sampdoria in 2006/07 Tim Cup semi-final 2nd leg. Trained with Mancini's squad in 2007 pre-season, making several appearances in friendly matches. Played 20 minutes of Inter's Champions League win over PSV Eindhoven on 2 October 2007.
