SEVENTY MINUTES FOR MATERAZZI IN SHEFFIELD

Inter Primavera beat Sheffield FC 5-2 in 150th anniversary friendly

SHEFFIELD - Inter Primavera beat Sheffield FC 5-2 in Thursday evening's friendly match at Bramall Lane, staged to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the oldest football club in the world.

Marco Materazzi played 70 minutes of the match to mark his return to action after the injury suffered in Italy's friendly against Hungary last August.

Among the crowd of 30,000 at Championship side Sheffield United's stadium were Inter president Massimo Moratti and managing director Ernesto Paolillo, who presented Sheffield FC officials with the shirts of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Materazzi, and football legend Pelé (sent by FIFA for the occasion).

Inter took the lead after ten minutes when Mario Balotelli slotted home after his initial shot came back off the post.

Vincenzo Esposito's team were 2-0 up by the 20th with Portuguese prodigy Pelé finding the net from 30 yards after his free kick rebounded off the Sheffield wall.

Swedish striker Goran Slavkovski converted Balotelli's assist to increase Inter's lead just before the break.

'Supermario' Balotelli grabbed his second of the game seven minutes after the interval, finding the bottom corner with a grasscutter from the edge of the box.

Sheffield FC pulled a goal back in the 63rd when Fatic inadvertently knocked the ball into his own net, and further reduced the arrears two minutes later through Ward who headed in at the far post.

Gianluca Litteri completed the scoring with two minutes left, firing past Boulter from 20 metres.
