Press conference held in Chinese capital to announce date of first competitive fixture of 2009/10

BEIJING - The Chinese FA, the Italian Football League and UVS held a press conference this morning to officially announce the decision to play the 2009 Italian Super Cup in Beijing. The match will be played on Saturday 8 August at 20:00 Beijing time in the National Stadium (also known as the Bird's Nest) - exactly one year after the opening ceremony of the 29th Olympic Games.

Officials from the Chinese FA, the Italian Football League and event organisers UVS took part in the press conference, as did the team managers of Inter and Lazio. José Mourinho also participated in today's event. The Inter coach thanked everybody for their collaboration in China over the past few days, and invited Chinese fans to fill the stadium and cheer on Inter and Lazio when the two teams compete for the first trophy of the season.
