MONTE CARLO - Inter will learn their 2009/10 UEFA Champions League opponents early this evening when the group stage draw takes place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo.
The 32 teams through to the draw have been placed in four pots according to their UEFA coefficient ranking. Inter are in Pot 2. One team from each pot will be drawn into the eight groups (A-H), but no team can be drawn against another team from the same country.
Wolfsburg, Rubin Kazan, AZ Alkmaar, Standard Liège, Unirea Urziceni, Debreceni, Apoel Nicosia and Zürich will all be making their debuts in the competition this season.
The group stage matches will be played on 15/16 September, 29/30 September, 20/21 October, 3/4 November, 24/25 November and 8/9 December. As in past seasons, the first two teams in each group will qualify for the last 16 draw on 18 December. The third-placed teams will qualify for the Europa League last 32.
