MILAN – “It is an honour for me to present president Massimo Moratti, captain Javier Zanetti and the mighty Marco Materazzi, with this award for sporting merit, as a result of the victories achieved with Inter on the international stage, but also for the meaning that this sporting victories have to our area, in this case the city of Milan, as they contribute to the growth of the prestige of our city and our region. On behalf of all of us a big thank-you!”
With these words the president of the region of Lombardy, Roberto Formigoni, presented the Nerazzurri delegation, which was made up of president Moratti, captain Zanetti and Materazzi, with a ‘Rosa Camuna’ created by the sculptor Pomodoro, as a symbol of celebration of Inter’s success in the FIFA Club World Cup.
After presenting the president of the region with a plaque commemorating the Nerazzurri trophies, Massimo Moratti said: “I am very proud and very happy that the Regional Council, who was the first to celebrate me and our team here in Milan after we won the Champions League, is now once again the first to celebrate us after the success at the Club World Cup.”
