APPIANO GENTILE - Inter's second session after their win in the TIM Cup quarter-finals over Napoli has just come to an end. The Nerazzurri continue in their preparation ahead of their Week 22 game of the Serie A 2010/11 against Palermo, which is scheduled for this Sunday at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in San Siro, Milan (kick-off 15:00). The players available for training this morning were divided into two groups. Those who were majorly involved in the game at the Stadio San Paolo on Wednesday carried out individual recovery sessions either on the pitch or in the gym. The second group, on the other hand, after their initial warm-up, carried out a complete session on the pitch. Diego Milito completed his second session, and for most of it he worked with the rest of the team. Instead Wesley Sneijder carried out his first session: partly with the rest of the team and partly on an individual basis, as he continued in his specific rehabilitation programme. Julio Cesar completed an individual session on the field, with specific goalkeeping exercises. Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, Nwankwo Obiora, Walter Samuel, Dejan Stankovic and David Suazo underwent individual treatments and carried out their specific rehab programmes.
Treatment and physiotherapy for Macdonald Mariga also, as the medical staff carried out their examination of his condition. The exams highlighted a strain in his right hamstring, more specifically to the bicep femoris and of a post-traumatic nature following an in-play challenge suffered during Napoli v Inter (the player came on 63 minutes into the game in place of Dejan Stankovic).
This morning, five players from the Primavera team (under-19s) trained with Leonardo's men: the goalkeeper Alberto Gallinetta; the defenders Felice Natalino and Simone Benedetti; the midfielder Sebastian Carlsen; the striker Denis Alibec; and the new signing, the midfielder Cristoph Knasmullner (in the picture).
Tomorrow the team will test out the newly laid pitch (installed this week) of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, as the Nerazzurri will carry out their last training session behind closed doors. From 13:00, always at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Leonardo will give the press conference on the eve of Inter v Palermo (access for the press will be allowed from 12:40 from bay number 8).
