MILAN – The loan transfer of Denis Alibec to Yellow Red Koninklijke Voetbalclub Mechelen has been completed.
The 20-year-old, born in Costanta and a Romania U-19 international, came through the youth ranks at FC Farul before joining Inter on 3 July 2009. The youngster spent two years with Inter's Primavera side (with whom he won this year's edition of the Viareggio Cup) and was also called up to the first team on numerous occasions by José Mourinho, Rafael Benitez, Leonardo and Gian Piero Gasperini, making two Serie A appearances and taking part in Inter's FIFA Club World Cup triumph in Abu Dhabi.
He will now continue his development at one of Belgium's longest-standing clubs, KV Mechelen, who had their most successful period in 1980s, when as well as winning the national league and cup they lifted the Cup Winners' Cup and the European Super Cup.
The loan arrangement means Alibec will spend this season helping Marc Brys' side to challenge for the Jupiler Pro League, which KV Mechelen currently lead with 9 points.
