APPIANO GENTILE – This week’s guest on InterNos was none other than The Pitbull himself, Gary Medel.
The Chilean midfielder, who visited the Inter Channel studios to answer questions sent in from fans, kicked things off with a glowing review of his life at the club: "I’m really happy at Inter and I get on very well with my team-mates, the boss and the whole coaching team."
Asked more about his relationship with Roberto Mancini, Medel replied: "It’s great to know that the coach has confidence in me, but all of my team-mates play important roles in the squad.
"I usually play either in midfield or at the back so I’ve not scored many for Inter, but in the past when I’ve played further forwards I’ve got a few goals too."
Medel also looked back on the moment he found out that the Nerazzurri were interested in him: "We were at the World Cup and I was told that there was interest from Inter. Piero [Ausilio] called me and the deal was done soon afterwards."
Lots of fans were desperate to know what Medel’s favourite match in an Inter shirt has been: "The 3-0 Coppa Italia win over Juventus was an almost-perfect match. That’s definitely been one of my favourites. Then there’s the Roma match I scored in, but the main thing is that the team wins. Whether I score or another team-mate does isn’t that important. We believe we can finish third."
Medel then spoke about his good rapport with the Inter fans: "I know that there are some fans that wait up to three or four hours after training for a photo or autograph so they definitely deserve one."
