Previous meetings between Bayer Leverkusen and Inter

There are no previous meetings in official matches between the two sides.

Inter's biggest win in Europe on 10 December 44 years ago

Inter's match against Bayer Leverkusen tomorrow night will be the Nerazzurri's third in Europe played on 10 December. The UEFA Cup match against Dukla Praga in 1986 was interrupted in the 77th minute by French referee Quiniou due to thick fog (Inter were winning 1-0 thanks to a Rummenigge goal), while in 1958 the Nerazzurri thrashed Lyon 7-0 in a UEFA/Fairs Cup match in Milan. Firmani (4), Angelillo (2), Lindskog scored in what is still Inter's biggest win in European cup competitions.

Previous Nerazzurri victory against Leverkusen in 1992 Viareggio Tournament

Tuesday's match between Inter and Bayer Leverkusen is the first meeting between the two sides in official matches. There is, however, a previous meeting between the two clubs' youth teams - in the 1992 Viareggio Tournament, Inter beat the Germans 4-2 in a first phase match courtesy of goals from Maruzzelli, Oliva and Tasso (2). Judt and Kurth scored for Leverkusen.

11 wins from 15 home matches against German sides for Nerazzurri

Inter have never drawn in 15 official matches played against German sides in Milan, winning 11 and losing 4. The Nerazzurri have scored in each of those matches except for the Piano Rappan Cup clash against Nurnberg, when the Germans were given a bye after Inter withdrew from the competition.

Crespo close to double figures

After breaking Mazzola's record of 7 goals for Inter in a single edition of the European Cup/Champions League set in 1963/64, South American striker Hernan Crespo went on to equal Boninsegna's record of 9 goals for Inter in Europe (in the 1969/70 Fairs/UEFA Cup) with a goal against Newcastle two weeks ago. By scoring his next goal, Crespo will become the first ever Inter player to have reached double figures in a single edition of a European cup competition.

No draw in Europe for Leverkusen for over seven months

Bayer Leverkusen haven't drawn in Europe for over 7 months, precisely, since 30 April 2002 when they drew 1-1 at home to Manchester United. Since then, the Germans have registered 3 wins and 5 defeats, including the Champions League final against Real Madrid last May.
