Atalanta's high scoring season

With 53 goals from 36 games, Atalanta have managed their fourth best scoring performance in one Serie A championship. One more goal will see the Bergamo Nerazzurri match their total of 54 goals in 1951/52 and 1953/54. Their highest top-flight tally was 66 goals in 1949/50. Atalanta have scored 33 goals in Serie A home matches this season - their best performance in the last fifty years.

Seventeen different Atalanta players on target this season

Along with Roma, Atalanta are the only other team to have scored with 17 different players in the 2006/07 Serie A championship. They are: Adriano, Ariatti, Bellini, Bombardini, Carrozzieri, Defendi, Donati, Doni, Ferreira Pinto, Loria, Migliaccio, Rivalta, Soncin, Tissone, Ventola, Vieri and Zampagna.

Colantuono & points in May

Inter unbeaten away from home

The Nerazzurri have won 15 and drawn 3 of their 18 away matches in the 2006/07 Serie A. If they come away from Bergamo with a win or a draw, Inter will have remained unbeaten on the road in on top-tier season for the first time in their history. Fiorentina (1968/69), Perugia (1978/79) and AC Milan (1987/88) have managed that feat in 16-team tournaments. The Rossoneri did the same in two 18-team tournaments (in 1991/92 and 1992/93).

BERGAMO - Serie A champions Inter held Atalanta 1-1 at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia in their penultimate match of the season.

Brazilian right-winger Ferreira Pinto struck an early opener for the Bergamo Nerazzurri.

Luis Figo levelled from the penalty spot three minutes after the interval to see Inter end the league season unbeaten on the road, with 15 victories and 4 draws.

Stefano Colantuono's side produced plenty of chances with lots of counter-attacking football in the first half.

But the first clear scoring opportunity fell to Inter on 8 minutes when Mariano Gonzalez went through on goal, only for Rivalta to get back in time and make a sliding tackle on the Argentine.

Atalanta took a 10th-minute lead Ferreira Pinto, who collected Loria's perfectly timed through ball, turned Burdisso and poked past Julio Cesar.

Buoyed by their goal, Atalanta pushed to double their lead, and almost did on 19 minutes when Ferreira Pinto fired just wide after receiving from Tissone.

Inter went close to a reply soon after through Stankovic. The Serbian midfielder powered down the middle and unleashed a low right-foot shot from 20 yards that Calderoni did well to get a hand to.

The home side were relentless in their search for a second goal, and Brazilian full-back Pereira Da Silva Adriano forced Julio Cesar into two crucial saves before a Zampagna lob that finished just wide.

Calderoni kept out a Solari effort on the stroke of half time as Atalanta took their lead into the break.

Inter were level three minutes after the interval when Figo scored from the penalty spot following a foul by Carrozzieri on Mariano Gonzalez.

It was the Portuguese midfielder's first goal for Inter since his extra-time winner in the Italian Super Cup comeback against Roma last August.

Atalanta almost grabbed an immediate reply when Zampagna hit a low shot just wide after evading a challenge on the edge of the area.

The Bergamo outfit went even closer in the 56th minute when Vieri, on for Zampagna, sent a looping header on target. With Julio Cesar beaten, Cordoba got back in time to head off the line and deny his former team-mate.

Cambiasso could have sealed victory for Inter in injury time but his angled left-foot effort finished a yard wide of the far post.
