Orlandi v Inter

Reggina boss Nevio Orlandi has faced Inter on two previous occasions, losing both times. Orlandi made his Serie A coaching debut in Reggina's 2-0 defeat to Inter in the Nerazzurri's Centenary fixture on 8 March 2008. He replaced Ulivieri, who had replaced Ficcadenti earlier in the 2007/08 season.

Details:
2007/08 Serie A Reggina-Inter ---- 0-2
2008/09 Serie A Reggina-Inter 2-3 ----

Inter on target in 19 consecutive league games

Inter last failed to score in a Serie A fixture on 29 October 2008 when Mourinho's team were held 0-0 by Fiorentina in Florence. Inter have since played 19 top-flight games, scoring a total of 38 goals - an average of 2 goals per game.

Inter's home invincibility, scoring form

Inter have lost only one of their last 36 home games in Serie A (Inter 1-2 Juventus on 22 March 2008), winning 28 and drawing 7 of the other 35. The Nerazzurri have failed to score in just one of their last 71 league games at home (Inter 0-0 Genoa on 26 October 2008), scoring 153 goals in the other 70 matches.

Top-scoring season for Ibrahimovic

With 17 goals from 28 games and 10 rounds of the Italian season still to play, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on course for a new scoring record in one Italian season. The Swedish striker, who scored 3 with Ajax and 16 for Juventus in 2004/05, is one goal away from beating his personal best of 17 Serie A goals in 2007/08.

Ibra, Maxwell on milestones

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will celebrate his 200th appearance for an Italian club if he plays against Reggina. His team-mate Maxwell is one game short of his 100th outing in black and blue. The Swedish forward, who made his Italian debut in Brescia 0-3 Juventus on 12 September 2004, has played 149 matches in Serie A, 5 in the Coppa Italia, 4 in the Italian Super Cup and 41 in European competitions. Maxwell, meanwhile, The Brazilian defender, meanwhile, has played for Inter 74 times in the league, 11 in the Coppa Italia, once in the Italian Super Cup and 13 in Europe. His debut came in a 1-0 away win over Roma on 20 September 2006.

Inter, Reggina's contrasting scoring form

Sixteen different Inter players have scored Serie A goals this season - more than any other team except Juventus. In alphabetical order, they are: Adriano, Balotelli, Burdisso, Cambiasso, Cordoba, Crespo, Cruz, Figo, Ibrahimovic, Maicon, Maxwell, Muntari, Obinna, Samuel, Stankovic and Vieira. In contrast, only 7 Reggina players have hit the target this term: Barreto, Brienza, Corradi, Costa, Cozza, Di Gennaro and Sestu. Sampdoria are the only other team with so few different scorers in 2008/09.

No Reggina away goal against Inter since 2001

Reggina last scored in an away match against Inter on 10 February 2001. On that occasion the Granata held the Nerazzurri 1-1, with Davide Dionigi scoring in the 22nd minute for the visitors.

Reggina's record winless run

Bottom-placed Reggina haven't won a Serie A fixture since 23 November 2008 when they beat Atalanta 3-1 at home, drawing 9 and losing 6 of their subsequent 15 fixtures for a record negative run of results in Italy's top flight.

Corradi equals scoring record

Reggina striker Bernardo Corradi has scored 10 Serie A goals this season, matching his record tally in one top-flight campaign. The Italian scored ten for Chievo in 2001/02, Lazio in 2002/03 and 2003/04, and Parma in 2004/05.

MILAN - Inter remain seven points clear at the top of the table with nine matches of the season remaining after a comfortable victory over Serie A strugglers Reggina.

Esteban Cambiasso and Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored early goals at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, and the Swede added a magnificent second-half effort to leave the Nerazzurri requiring 20 points to wrap up a 17th league title.

Beset by injury problems and with Samuel out suspended, Mourinho made three changes to the team that beat Fiorentina last weekend, naming Cambiasso and Rivas at the centre of defence and handing Mancini a place alongside Ibrahimovic and Balotelli in a three-pronged attack.

Javier Zanetti, making his 635th appearance to become Inter's second most present player of all time, propped up a three-man midfield with Muntari and Stankovic.

Reggina were without top scorer Corradi but Orlandi's team were boosted by the return of Santos in defence and Barreto in midfield.

Inter made a dream start against the Amaranto. With less than six minutes on the clock Balotelli crossed for Stankovic who backheeled into the path of the onrushing Cambiasso who lifted over Puggioni for his third goal of the season.

Four minutes later, Ibrahimovic bettered his record of 17 goals in one Serie A season with his first penalty of the campaign, tucking under Puggioni after Mazzoleni pointed to the spot after a Valdez foul on Mancini.

Zlatan was denied a second by the woodwork on 18 minutes when his first-time shot hit the inside of the post and flew across the goalline on its way out for a goal kick, and in the 37th when Puggioni kept out his angled drive from the left channel.

Reggina's best chance of the first half came three minutes before break after Obinna replaced the injured Mancini, but Barillà, through on goal with just Julio Cesar to beat, was brilliantly denied by the Inter keeper.

After a sluggish start to the second period Ibrahimovic brought the game to life and killed it off with a wonder goal. After gliding past three opponents, the Swede spotted Puggioni off his line and lobbed the Reggina keeper with an inch-perfect finish to join Di Vaio on top of the top scorers list.

Playing for honour, Orlandi's men never stopped fighting but there was no way past Julio Cesar who made difficult saves from Barreto and Lanzaro.

Mourinho threw on Luis Jimenez for Dejan Stankovic for the last twenty-five minutes but the Chilean's game lasted for just sixteen after he pulled up injured.

Inter had plenty of chances for a fourth, with Ibrahimovic Balotelli, Obinna and Muntari all going close in the final stages.
