48' Free kick to us just outside the Samp box after a foul on Santon.
46' Ibrahimovic gets on the end of Balotelli's curling free kick but his header is wide.
45' Five minutes of injury time.
43' Balotelli looks for Ibrahimovic with a long-range pass, but Castellazzi gets there first.
39' Back in our half, Cassano sends a long-range shot into the Curva.
39' Corner for Inter. At the near post Julio Cruz nods wide Balotelli's left-wing cross.
36' Inter hit straight back and the woodwork denies Ibrahimovic a second, his looping effort from the left angle of the box coming back off the crossbar. What a goal that would have been!
35' Sammarco controls Cassano's right-wing cross on the edge of the area but is immediately dispossessed by Santon. Samp remain in attack though and Cassano tests Julio Cesar from an impossible angle.
32' Ibrahimovic is booked for protesting after a foul by Vieira.
28' Inter close to a second as Balotelli swings in a free kick and Ibra heads on target, forcing Castellazzi into a one-handed save.
27' COMEBACK GOAL NUMBER ONE! From the edge of the box, Zlatan Ibrahimovic rifles home Cruz' chested pull-back. INTER 1-0 SAMPDORIA.
27' A chance for Sampdoria. Pieri swings in an inviting left-wing cross for Pazzini who heads just wide.
25' Lucchini blocks Balotelli's fast right-wing cross. Materazzi's back-post header from the resulting corner is wide of the target.

8' Free kick to Inter in a central position about 35 metres from goal after a Cassano foul on Vieira.
8' Balotelli gets past Accardi and swings in the cross from the right. Lucchini blocks.
5' Samp attack back and Cassano overhits his curling cross for Sammarco.
4' Inter remain in attack and Ibra's floated cross for Santon takes a deflection but Castellazzi manages to stop it going out for a corner.
3' Ibrahimovic looks for openings on the left angle of the Samp box but he is quickly closed down.
3' Cassano works the ball to Pazzini but the Samp striker is promptly dispossessed.
1' Inter have a mountain to climb, but if you need a few good omens, just think back to the 1980s when the Nerazzurri twice overturned a three-goal deficit to win on aggregate.
1' Brace yourselves for what could be a very interesting 90 (or 120) minutes of Coppa Italia football at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
1' In the 1981/82 quarter-finals Evaristo Beccalossi scored in the first half and Alessandro Altobelli added a second-half brace as we beat Roma 3-0 at home after losing 4-1 in the capital.
1' At the same stage in 1984/85 we ousted Verona 5-1 after a 3-0 loss in the 1st leg. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge scored twice and Altobelli once to force extra time, with Franco Causio and Liam Brady netting either side of Larsen's goal to put Inter in the semis.
1' In more recent years, Inter have often come up with the goods after falling three goals behind.
1' All Inter fans will remember that dramatic comeback against tonight's visitors Sampdoria in 2004/05 when Martins scored in the 90th minute before Vieri and Recoba added injury-time goals to cancel out efforts from Tonetto and Kutuzov.
1' In 2006 we produced another stunning fightback, coming back from three goals down to beat Roma 4-3 a.e.t. and lift the Italian Super Cup. On that occasion Figo hit an extra-time winner after two goals from Vieira on his debut and one from Crespo.
1' And earlier this season we came back from 3-1 down to hold the Giallorossi thanks to goals from Balotelli and Crespo.
1' On to the lineups and Mourinho has gone for 4-3-3 with Burdisso a surprise starter in the centre of midfield and Cambiasso on the bench. Inter: Julio Cesar; Santon, Cordoba, Materazzi, Maxwell; Vieira, Burdisso, Zanetti; Cruz, Ibrahimovic, Balotelli.
1' Blucerchiati boss Mazzarri has stuck with his usual 3-5-2, bringing in Lucchini for the disqualified Gastaldello. Sampdoria: Castellazzi; Accardi, Lucchini, Campagnaro; Raggi, Palombo, Sammarco, Franceschini, Pieri; Cassano, Pazzini.
1' There are changes in the stands too. Several thousand kids who are part of the club's Io Tifo Positivo project have occupied the second ring north stand. For the occasion, the hardcore Inter fans have moved to the first ring.
1' On the other side of the stadium there are around ten thousand Samp supporters waving their red, white and blue flags.
1' Away we go as the Nerazzurri kick off. FORZA INTER!!!
1' Free kick to Samp just inside our half after a foul by Materazzi on Pazzini.

Inter unbeaten at home in Coppa Italia since 2002

Inter's 2-1 Coppa Italia round of sixteen return leg loss to Bari on 12 December 2002 was the Nerazzurri's last home defeat in the competition. Inter have played 20 cup games at home since that date, winning 15 and drawing 5.

Inter unbeaten in 23 home games in Italian competitions, on target in 14

Inter haven't lost a home game in domestic competitions since their 2-1 defeat to Juventus on 22 March 2008. The Nerazzurri have since played 23 Serie A, Tim Cup and Italian Super Cup games, winning 15 and drawing 8. Inter have scored in each of their last 14 home matches in national competitions, scoring a total of 28 goals. Their last domestic match without scoring was the 0-0 draw with Genoa on 26 October 2008.

That comeback in 1985

For the second time in their history, Inter go into a Coppa Italia return leg at home after losing the first leg 3-0 away. In 1984/85 the Milan outfit came back from three goals down to beat Verona 5-1 after extra time in the return fixture.

No Samp goal against Inter in San Siro for 312 minutes

Francesco Flachi was the last Sampdoria player to score against Inter at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. A total of 312 competitive minutes have elapsed since Flachi's 48th-minute penalty in the 1-1 Serie A draw between the two teams on 16 September (remaining 42 minutes of that match plus 0-0 Coppa Italia draw in 2006/07, and Inter's 3-0 and 1-0 Serie A wins in 2007/08 and 2008/09).

Samp one away from 400th goal in Coppa Italia

Sampdoria's next goal in the Tim Cup will be their 400th in the competition. The first of their 399 national cup goals came on 8 June 1958 when the Blucerchiati defeated Vigevano 5-0 at home. Mario Tortul scored it in the 29th minute.

Michele Ferri set for 200th match in professional football

if selected to play against Inter in the semi-final return leg, Sampdoria's Michele Ferri will make his 200th appearance as a professional. Ferri, who has played for Cesena, Triestina, Palermo, Cagliari and Sampdoria, made his professional debut in Cesena 3-3 Livorno (Serie C1) on 2 September 2001. He has played 87 times in Serie A, 65 in Serie B, 25 in Serie A C1, 18 in Coppa Italia and 4 in European competitions.

Samp through on both previous occasions after 3-0 win in first leg

For the third time in their history, Sampdoria go into a Coppa Italia return leg away from home after winning the first leg 3-0. They have qualified for the next round on both of the previous occasions. In the 1985/86 quarter-finals they ousted Vicenza, drawing 2-2 in the second leg, while at the same stage of the competition in 1988/89 they drew 1-1 with Fiorentina. In both cases, Samp went on to reach the final, losing to Roma in the first before beating Napoli in the second.

MILAN - Inter fought until the last minute in their bid to overturn a three-goal deficit and reach a fifth consecutive Tim Cup final, but had to settle for a 1-0 victory in Thursday's semi-final return leg at the Giuseppe Meazza as Sampdoria set up a final with Lazio.

Ibrahimovic fired an early warning sign to the Blucerchiati when his ninth-minute rocket shot was well saved by Castellazzi, but Sampdoria hit back within seconds and Sammarco was denied by the feet of Julio Cesar after collecting Cassano's intelligent through ball.

Pazzini was left rueing a good chance when he headed wide Pieri's cross from the left before the half-hour as Inter poured forward on the counter-attack and Ibrahimovic fired Cruz' chested pass beyond Castellazzi, breathing confidence into the Nerazzurri.

An inspirational Ibrahimovic forced Castellazzi into a one-handed save with his powerful header from Balotelli's cross, and the woodwork denied Inter a second when the Swede's outrageous lob from the left angle of the box came back off the crossbar with the Samp keeper stranded.

The Nerazzurri were unlucky again in added time at the end of the first half when Cruz headed just wide after beautifully crafted move involving Balotelli and Ibrahimovic.

Mourinho brought on Chivu for Cordoba at the break, introducing Crespo and Cambiasso for Cruz and Vieira with just nine minutes of the second half on the clock. Inter piled on the pressure but Sampdoria were dangerous on the break and Cassano tested Julio Cesar with a low diagonal effort after ghosting past three opponents.

The visitors went closer still with fifteen minutes remaining when Julio Cesar's palmed clearance from Palombo's cross fell to Campagnaro, whose shot was cleared off the line by Maxwell.

Samp were made to sweat until the final whistle and Ibrahimovic volleyed narrowly wide after latching on to Cambiasso's headed pass, before Burdisso saw his shot blocked on the line by Castellazzi after Ibra's deflected cross-shot came back off the bar.
