Tottenham v Inter

The Nerazzurri's 4-3 win at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in UCL Matchday 3 is the only previous meeting between the two teams.

Tottenham v Italy

Spurs take on an Italian team in a classic European competition for the fifth time in their history after a win, a draw and 2 defeats. They have conceded in every game, for a total of 8 goals let in. Tottenham host an Italian side for the second time after a 2-1 victory over AC Milan in the 1971/72 UEFA Cup. Added to these games are two Anglo-Italian Cup wins over Torino (2-0 in London, 1-0 in Turin).

Only one draw for Inter in 15 trips to England

Inter face an English club for the 31st time in classic European competitions after 12 wins, 6 draws and 13 defeats. The Nerazzurri play on English soil for the 16th time after 4 wins, 1 draw (0-0 against Everton in the 1963/64 European Cup) and 10 defeats. Added to these games are four Anglo-Italian cup ties: 1 win, 2 draws and 1 defeat.

Spurs goalless in only one of last 10 Euro games...

Tottenham Hotspur have failed to score in just one of their last 10 European games: on 19 February 2009 when they were beaten 2-0 at Shakhtar Donetsk. The Londoners have scored 23 goals in the other 9 games.

...and in only one of last 20 at White Hart Lane

Spurs have scored in 19 of their last 20 European matches at home for a total of 48 goals. That only goalless game at White Hart Lane was a 1-0 defeat to PSV Eindhoven on 6 March 2008.

Tottenham on target in all 6 European Cup/UCL home games

Spurs have netted in every home match in Europe's elite club competition, scoring 23 goals in their 5 wins and and 1 draw. That's an average of almost 4 goals per game.

Lucky date for Spurs

Tottenham play a European game on 2 November for the third time in their history after wins at Feyenoord (2-0 in 1983/84 UEFA Cup) and at home to Bruges (3-1 in 2006/07 UEFA Cup). Inter's only 2 November fixture in Europe was a 5-1 thrashing of Groningen on a neutral ground in Bari in the 1983/84 UEFA Cup.

Nerazzurri unbeaten in last 11 European fixtures

Inter have lost just one of their last 11 matches in Europe: a 1-0 defeat at Barcelona on 28 April 2010. In the other ten games, Inter have notched 9 wins and 1 draw.

Inter: two consecutive clean sheets away from home

The Nerazzurri haven't conceded a single goal away from home since Vucinic's 90th-minute effort in the 1-0 defeat at Roma on 25 September 2010. Inter have since played away to Cagliari and Genoa, winning both games 1-0.

The ref: Viktor Kassai

Hungarian Viktor Kassai, born in Tatabanya on 10 September 1975, has been appointed to oversee Tuesday evening's UEFA Champions League Group A Matchday 4 tie at White Hart Lane in London (kick-off 19:45GMT).
Kassai, who referees the European champions for the first time, will be assisted by linesmen Gyorgy Ring and Tibor Vamos, fourth official Ferenc Bede, and additional assistant referees Mihaly Fabian and Tamas Bognar. The UEFA delegate is Greek official Patrick Comninos, while the referee observer is Oguz Sarvan of Turkey.
Kassai, a FIFA referee since 2003, was selected to officiate in the 2007 Under-20 World Cup in Canada, where he took charge of the group stage matches Brazil v South Korea and Argentina v North Korea. A fourth official at Euro 2008, he refereed Argentina v Australia in the group stages of the Beijing Olympics football tournament and also refereed the final between Nigeria and Argentina.
In October 2009 he was appointed to oversee the first leg of the 2010 World Cup playoff between New Zealand and Bahrain. He refereed at the 2009 Under-17 World Cup in Nigeria and the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, where he took charge of four games: Brazil v North Korea, Mexico v Uruguay, the last sixteen clash between USA and Ghana, and the semi-final between Germany and Spain.
A UEFA Elite referee, Kassai recently refereed Valencia-Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League and the return leg of the qualifying tie between Werder Bremen and Sampdoria.

LONDON - Van der Vaart, Crouch and Pavlyuchenko scored as Tottenham Hotspur beat injury-hit Inter 3-1 at White Hart Lane to join the European champions on top of Group A.
Samuel Eto'o netted ten minutes from time for his seventh goal in this season's Champions League.
Played in by Modric, van der Vaart opened the scoring with a crisp shot on 18 minutes. Inter could have brought the teams on level terms at the break, only for Cudicini to produce a wonder save from the Dutchman's curling free kick.
Spurs doubled their lead on 61 minutes when Bale stormed down the left and swung in a cross for Crouch to slot in from close range.
Eto'o reduced the arrears with a clinical finish from Sneijder's assist on 80 minutes, but Pavlyuchenko made extra sure of the points a minute from time, tapping in Bale's cross at the far post.
