MILAN - Ten years is a long time in the life of a human being, and for the Internet, a decade is a grand old age. Inspired by Milly Moratti, Inter.it made its online debut on July 30, 1995 and Inter became the first football club to have an official website.
Developed using open source software, Inter.it gives daily updates on the Nerazzurri, with over 60,000 news items and 70,000 photos posted since day one. All fixtures can be followed live on our Match Centre, complete with audio and text commentary, goal clips and exclusive photos, and for our community of 217,000 registered members there is also a rich download area containing games, wallpapers, screensavers, squad photos and lots more.
The Internet has come a long way in ten years, and so has Inter.it. We've won a string of accolades, including a memorable treble in 2003 when the staff carried off the Premio WWW, Premio WebItalia and Expogoal Best Site awards. The Premio WWW, a prestigious award given by Italian financial daily IlSole24Ore, was our third after successes in 1998 and 2001.
According to Alexa.com data, Inter.it was the most-visited site in the Most Popular in UEFA and Most Popular in Italy categories in 2003. And with an average 20 million page views a month and 300,000 unique sessions per day, the site is still up there at the top.
Inter.it gives special thanks to all the staff, both past and present, that have worked on the site since 1995.
