DONETSK - Inter head coach Roberto Mancini answered questions at Tuesday's UEFA news conference before the final training session ahead of Wednesday's Champions League qualifier against Shakhtar Donetsk:
On the eve of the match do you have any doubts about which team to field?
"No, no doubts. There were some decisions to make regarding the physical condition of several players, but I have already made my choices."
This 180-minute clash could be decisive for the whole season...
"We're approaching these two matches with serenity. We know Shakhtar were the most difficult opponent that could have come out of the hat, but we also know that we can do very well if we play like we're capable of doing."
At what stage is the team's physical condition?
"Difference in condition is surely one of our biggest worries. They go into this match with five competitive matches behind them, but let's remember that also Basel were further ahead than us last year. We suffered in the first leg, but we did very well in both matches. I hope the team is better this year than last season, thanks also to the advantage of knowing each other and having played together for a year."
Could the first leg be decisive?
"We're here to win, and that's also because we don't know what it will be like to play behind closed doors. But we know that tomorrow's match is very important."
