PALERMO - Palermo beat Inter 3-2 at the Renzo Barbera on Saturday to record their first home win against the Nerazzurri since 1962.
Corini, Terlizzi and Makinwa scored in a Rosaneri-dominated encounter with Julio Cruz grabbing a late brace for Inter.
After Adriano had an early shot parried by Santoni, Eugenio Corini put Palermo ahead on 20 minutes with a textbook curling free kick into the top right corner to become the first player to score against Inter in the Serie A since Rafael's goal in last season's 2-1 defeat to the other Sicilian top-flight side Messina.
Christian Terlizzi doubled five minutes after the restart, connecting with Corini's corner to propel an unstoppable header past Julio Cesar and put Del Neri's team in the driving seat.
On 66 minutes Nigerian international Stephen Makinwa met Santana's left-wing cross at the far post and directed his header into the other corner to score on his home debut for Palermo.
Nerazzurri substitute Julio Cruz pulled one back four minutes from time with a close-range shot from Adriano's pass, then with seconds of injury time remaining rose to nod home a corner but it wasn't enough to stop Palermo ending Inter's run of six Serie A matches without defeat.
