CORDOBA GETS TWO-MATCH CUP BAN

MILAN - The Lega Calcio's Disciplinary Commission has suspended Inter defender Ivan Cordoba for two domestic cup matches for a blow directed at Roma player Cufrè in the 40th minute of last night's Tim Cup final first leg.

The decision was reached after examination of videotape evidence as, according to the statement, "the referee did not see and therefore could not make any decision".

According to the sports judge Cufré should also have been penalised, but unlike Cordoba he was not reported.

Mexes, Perrotta and Taddei are automatically banned for one cup match after reaching the limit of yellow cards with their bookings at the Olimpico. All three Roma players are therefore ruled out of next Thursday's return leg.
