ZANETTI: "EVERY PLAYER NEEDED"

Inter captain says team unity important for final phase of season

APPIANO GENTILE - Inter captain Javier Zanetti gave the following interview to Italian television before Friday's training session at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti:

Zanetti: you were among the organisers of yesterday's barbecue in Appiano, in which president Massimo Moratti also participated...
"It's not the first time we have done something like this. It was definitely needed to unite the squad. This is a very important time for us and we have to make one last effort. We are all important and we need every player. Things like this always work."

One of the most active 'chefs' was Nicolas Burdisso, one of the four players handed bans by UEFA's disciplinary committee...
"I'm sorry after what has happened. I think six matches are a lot. Let's hope a few can be taken off if the club decides to appeal. It's important that Nicolas understands the affection that all his team-mates feel for him, and the same thing goes for Cordoba, Cruz and Maicon."

On Sunday Inter play away to Ascoli, the team against which Zanetti scored his only goal of this season...
"Let's hope it's a good omen, and that I can score more goals. But the most important thing for me is that the team continues to play well, wins and reaches its remaining objectives."

It seems as if Adriano and Esteban Cambiasso have recovered and will both be available for Ascoli...
"Adri and Cuchu are back with the squad. They are two important returns because we will need everybody in this final stage of the championship."
