MILAN - Joel Obi and Aiman Napoli scored in each half as Inter beat Chievo 2-0 in their first home match of the 2008/09 Campionato Primavera.
Vincenzo Esposito's Nerazzurri fought hard for the points and had an early chance when Bocalon's looping header was palmed over by Maragna.
Chievo nearly scored from a counter-attack eleven minutes in when centre-forward Anastasia saw his fierce drive come back off the post.
But Inter continued their bright start at the Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti and broke the deadlock in the 17th minute when Obi slid home after a defence-splitting move by Napoli.
Bocalon saw his angled shot tipped round by Maragna, and Belec made a terrific save from Burato as both teams had chances before the break.
Chievo's Hanine hit the post in the opening minutes of the second half but it was Inter who created more chances.
Midfielder Alberto Gerbo twice forced saves from Maragna and Napoli backheeled wide of an open goal after Mattia Destro's cross. Destro then had a shot tipped over, with Napoli and Antonio Esposito both firing wide.
Inter opened up a two-goal cushion with eleven minutes remaining when Primavera captain Napoli, who scored 21 goals last season, headed home Esposito's left-wing cross.
Esposito's team ended the match with ten men after the dismissal of Mei in added time.
